In the PI, do they do that nonsense about splitting it up into Valentine’s Day (2/14, girls treat boys) and White Day (3/14, boys treat girls)? As you know, it’s a thing in Korea and Japan. And then there’s Black Day (4/14) for us singletons (at least in Korea).
Anyway, you’ve hit the Valentine’s Day watershed. Congrats! Now, onward to Christmas!

When I’m trudging up the staircase inside my apartment building, I’m thankful I don’t have to deal with excessive heat, thatch grass, and other natural inconveniences.

Doesn’t sound like a “weak end.” Actually sounds kinda nice. Muffins might be overbaked, but they look good in the pic. Chili doesn’t look ready, but I can see the promise of readiness in it. Nice pics, as always, of nature and civilization. Overall a happy weekend, or so it seems to me.

I’ve reviewed Seasons 1 and 2 of “Cobra Kai,” so you can look for those reviews on my blog via the search window. The series started off on YouTube, but then it got moved to Netflix, which I don’t have, so I’ve missed Seasons 3 and 4. Them’s the breaks.
As long as you’re not being kept from your exercise time, I guess the new schedule is okay. Maybe blogging just has to become an every-other-day thing from now on. Stay sane!

Nice pics of the beach. I guess some of those ladies are doing a Hawaiian-ish thing. Then again, Polynesian culture is pretty widespread, so maybe it’s not specifically Hawaiian.

Sometimes it doesn’t go as planned
I vote “delusional” at this point. This is the same John Mac who recently wrote:

Yet here you are, ready for another beating. I’m beginning to think you love this sort of pain, and further, you love the disapproval from your commenters because it amounts to attention. Well, for my part, I’m going to go back to not commenting on relationship matters since it’s obvious you’re determined not to listen or learn. I’ll continue to comment on hiking and darts and bars, etc., but there’s really no point in offering insights about the more unsavory aspects of your life. You say your inward reality has changed because of the comments, but your behavior has changed not at all, and actions speak louder than words.

That “karma” proverb is nonsense. Americans, in particular, love to do this thing where they break up, then get back together, break up, then get back together. “Oh, now, we’re just friends,” they tell everyone. But, no: what usually happens is they get back in with their shit relationship, start fighting, then break up again. It’s a long cycle of stupidity and wasted time. Don’t reenter the vortex. Seek someone else. This is over.
Or, hey—have at it and waste more time! You have all the time in the world, right? At age 66?

You’ve been part of your PI community for a couple years, now, so I’m sure you’ve developed some meaningful friendships among fellow hikers and darters, yes? People you hang out with and confide in? People who are there for you “in times of trouble”? It’s not a total wash, then.
As for the bargirls… no meaningful relationship can ever be based on money. If you remove the money and the relationship disappears, it was never there to begin with. You know this, of course.

Wish I had advice on this front, but it comes down to how perceptively you judge character, and that’s inside your head. Either you get good at judging character, or you don’t. If you’re looking for trashy, there seems to be plenty of that around, but having the insight to know when you’ve caught a good fish is… well, it’s not something that can be taught, I think. It’s more along the lines of what Koreans would call nunchi (roughly, perceptivity). If there’s a way to hone your nunchi, I don’t know what it is. I’d say that your long experience with women and relationships ought to offer you some wisdom, but that seems not to be the case.

Yeah, about that. What happened? You walk by tons of streams; you hike all those mountain trails and pass through forests; you find yourself quite often at the beach… never a desire to fish or camp?
I was never a fisherman. I think I caught exactly one fish in my youth, and if I remember correctly, I had to throw it back for being too small.
