The last dance (again)

Yes, I’m losing sleep over it.

I’m dealing with something unexpected and still have a lot of thinking to do about how I’m going to handle the situation. So, let me get this post out of the way so I can get on with it.

As seen on the Decay Dance yesterday

The Easter Mountain shot.
Things started going downhill.
Two weeks of life is a crying shame. I hope you get another chance at life, Kaylee.
This is the spot where I was knee-deep in water last week.

Started the evening ritual at Sloppy Joe’s.

Just what we need in Barretto: another bar.
I enjoyed some calamari rings at Sloppy Joe’s.

Next up was some time in the Alaska Club. Had a warm greeting and a free beer from owner Jerry. Thanks again!

Finished things up at Wet Spot. Everything was fine until it wasn’t. I’ll fill you in when I’ve got my mind around it.

Another one dead way too soon. RIP.
The place that used to be Myleen’s is going to reopen as a “music hub.” I take that to mean a karaoke bar. No, thanks!
The former chef at Myleen’s is now working at the Fox Beach Resort on Baloy. And yes, he brought his birria tacos recipe with him. I’ll definitely be hitting that up soon.

This showed up in my Facebook feed this morning:

I probably don’t have a prayer.

And then like a kick in the nuts, Facebook memories shared these:

Seventeen years ago, my fat ass was in Bali with the woman who was destined to be wife #4.
Thirteen years ago, we dressed up to attend the Army Ball in Seoul.

And as if that wasn’t enough, when I checked the title “The last dance” for redundancy, I came across this post from New Year’s Day 2015 announcing that my wife, Jee Yeun, told me she wanted a divorce. It only hurts until the pain goes away.

Back to the July 2020 LTG archives, where I’m wrapping things up with Mary and hoping to crank things up with Ilene. And on and on it goes.

Let’s see if the Filipina Pea can clear things up about the weirdness of Filipino culture in today’s YouTube video.

I’m not in a humorous mood, but I’ll share these anyway:

Tell me about it.
But you are bald, Picard.
Maybe that works the best for all concerned.

Alright, sorry for the tone of this post. Think I’ll go get drunk.

  1. Judging by the humor section, it seems Swan is demanding more money from you? That’s the problem with these pay-for relationships; you have to set boundaries and lay down the law right in the beginning or they’ll just keep trying to bleed you for more.

Hang in there, John. There’s plenty of other fish in the sea, or, even better, plenty of whales too nudge nudge wink wink say no more…

  2. Jack, the humor I post is random stuff I find on the internet, not related to me or my life. My relationship with Swan was not money-based. She has simply chosen a new path in life that doesn’t include me.

As for the fish in the sea, I’ve already caught my limit. Whatever time I have left in life, I’ll be spending on my own.

  3. I’ve been reading your blog since what, 2005 or so and I love how happy you’ve been in the last few years so I hope you and Swan can mend things and keep on keeping on. And I know this is selfish but as a long-time reader, I do hope you let us know what happened this time.
