Yule tidings

The tree at Alley Cats

Ah, one week until Christmas, where does the time go? Actually, I don’t even care about this holiday, just another day to fill for me. This is not to say I’m anti-Christmas. Last night I attended the Alley Cat Chrismas party and enjoyed the revelry.

I didn’t participate in the gift exchange, but I did have a white envelope to give to each staff member at Alley.
Another patron put money of varying amounts into those balloons. The girls then took turns popping a random balloon with a dart. Some got as much as 1000 pesos. It was hilarious when the guy’s girlfriend only found 20 pesos in hers. (All my envelopes contained 500 pesos)
Some of the other attendees.

I’m not going to debate the abortion issue here, but I had one yesterday. The plan I had in mind for the Friday walking group was to climb a moderate mountain. When we arrived at the base of the trail going up, other group members deemed it “too easy”. Well, that’s fine, I am always open to other ideas. But the climb they wanted was not one I was willing to undertake. The last time I’d been on that path was coming down and it was long and crazy hard. No way I was going to attempt to do it going up. I wished them well and retreated to whence I had come. Only a 4K walk for me on the day.

A parting shot of the group I left behind me.
“Yea though I walk through the valley of rice, I will fear the evil mountain climb.” So it is written, so it must be.
I was on trail long enough to capture a shot of Easter mountain for y’all.
Nothing like a little perspective on the meaning of a hard hike.
Now THAT’S some heavy lifting!

Meanwhile, the saga with Pearl continues. I’m still digesting what happened and deciding what comes next. A lot of that will depend on her.

Why does that have to be so hard?

Oh, well. You’ve just got to enjoy the ride as much as you are able, I guess.

  1. Well, I sincerely hope Pearl enjoys the nice, veiny, tadalafil-charged Yule log you’ll be presenting her for Christmas. Because if there’s anyone who deserves a great Christmas after all this stress and drama, it’s that damn Yule log. Don’t tell her to “keep the tip,” though; she might bite something off. 28-year-olds can be vicious.

  2. Hope things go well with Pearl.

Good on ya’ for remembering the bar staff during Christmas.

  3. Kevin, HaHa! I keep asking her what she wants for Christmas. I guess I should just give it to her, good and hard. And oh yeah, she can indeed be vicious.

  4. QP, yes that is Jerlyn. 23 and reportedly a cherry girl. She says I’m like a daddy to her, so I don’t guess I’ll ever find out! Very sweet gal though, and one of my favorites.
