Ah, another crazy mid-week day. Did the Wednesday Walker hike this morning and finished at Pearl’s place for lunch and beers.
Now, after rushing home I need to take a shower and get ready for dart league at 2:00 this afternoon. That barely leaves time for this abbreviated post.
After the tournament, I headed over to Pearl’s place. It was packed with people, including the Dick and his pals. I asked Pearl to come with me for dinner and she declined. I didn’t respond well to that rejection and gave her an ultimatum. Make a choice between me and Dick Head. She chose to stay and I left alone. We exchanged some messages later in the evening, without resolution. I was drunk and tired and went to bed. I was surprised when my phone rang at around midnight. It was Pearl telling me she was on her way to see me.
So, apparently, the cat is now out of the bag. Dick wanted to know who she was texting with last night and Pearl told him it was me and that we were a couple. According to her, Dick was devastated by this news and cried. I don’t know the man, so I can’t say. He sure does seem whacked to me though. And Pearl came to stay with me, which was the confirmation I was looking for, at least in the short term.
When I arrived at Pearl’s this afternoon I was happy to see that Dick wasn’t there. Then he arrived about 30 minutes later. Pearl and I were seated outside, he went inside without a word and stayed there for the duration of my visit. Pearl stayed with me the entire time too.
So, perhaps the wheel has turned and we can now move on to whatever other issues may arise in our relationship. I invited Pearl to come watch me play darts at Lagoon on Baloy this afternoon and stay for dinner afterward. We shall see if she shows.

Dick is a grown-ass man, so why the fuck is he crying like a little bitch? Bunch of old teenagers out there in the PI, acting as if they’re still hormonal. What the hell?
Anyway, Pearl seems finally to have made things clear to Dick, although I wish she’d done that much earlier. Assuming she’s not stupid, she must have known he was doing his damnedest to court her. I’d be careful about that aspect of Pearl: the young girl’s immature desire to seek validation through male attention. It’s an ego thing.

Are you sure Pearl is juggling Dick Head and you, or is she juggling her business and you. Many times you have walked in and said let’s go. Her place may be busy, it’s her livelihoodand and Dick Head is a customer, maybe a threat and a little off but still a customer. It’s almost like you treat her like an interruption to your other many activities.
You then walk our in a huff and get on with your life, drinking, darting, hashing. Maybe you can modify your activities a little.and win her heart.

In fairness to Dick, who certainly seems like one, John seems to have found one of the better looking girls who also isn’t asking for money all the time. Might be worth a tear it two … but not in public.
James, I’m impressed with your memory! I actually met Pearl on a hike (someone else invited her) and felt an immediate attraction. The second time she hiked a young Filipino was with her and when I asked “who’s that?”, she said “my boyfriend”. I found out later she was joking, which Pearl assumed was obvious because the guy was bakla (gay he/she). I didn’t pick up on that fact at the time and stopped giving Pearl attention since she was taken. Pearl thought I was being stuck up. Her joke almost ended things before they began. Pearl has since told me she has never dated a Filipino in her life and has no desire to do so now or in the future.
Dick is a weird one that seems obsessed with Pearl and has been pursuing her in odd and obnoxious ways. That Pearl still considers him a friend at all is raising some serious red flags in my mind.
Kevin, yeah, that description of Dick seems spot on. I will elaborate some more in today’s post. I’m a little freaked out by the shit Pearl told me last night. It makes your thesis seem scarily plausible.

Jerry, good to hear from you again! I was wondering where you’ve been. I think you make a fair point and I’m trying to adjust to her schedule as best that I can. I’d hang out at her place more except I don’t like being around Dick. I’m honestly afraid that after some beers my judgment may be impaired and I’ll confront him directly. That could get physical which is never a good thing, especially in this country. I never want to see the inside of a Filipino jail!
QP, I can understand Dick’s attraction but his obsessive pursuit is disconcerting and borderline insane.
I am here every day. First thing I look at each morning.
I spend a lot of time swimming, machine weights, my favorite rowing machine and loving my dogs. Unfortunately my pea brain still won’t communicate with my ankles. Fortunately, I have an athletic wife, quite strong, and takes good care of me. Downside, she is Korean, meaning, she can be batshit stubburn. Cervical MRI pending.
Agree, stay away from Dick Head.
