Another Hashy Anniversary!

And yesterday there was a Hasher from Thailand who didn’t have a leg to stand on.

The 33rd anniversary of the founding of the Subic Bay Hash House Harriers is in the books. By all accounts, it was a good one. We had 121 Hashers in attendance, including folks from Hash Houses in La Union, Angeles City, Puerto Galera, and Manila. We also welcomed international Hashers from Pattaya and Bangkok in Thailand, and one from Cambodia. Thanks for joining us in our celebration.

The hares, Anal Receptive, Leech My Nuggets, and Fast and Loose, worked hard on three trails of varying difficulty: a 10.5K ass-kicker with a long, hard climb to Kalaklan Ridge; an 8K trek with a somewhat easier climb to the ridgeline; and a short 4K jaunt that still had a healthy climb. Me being me, I opted for a 6K, mostly flat valley walk.

The chosen paths of the Hares.
And the Sinatra trail. (I did it my way)

The downside to staying flat was missing views like this one from the top:

Maybe next time.

So, here’s some of what I did see:

The bus that carried us from the VFW in Barretto out to the trail head in Naugsol.
Waiting to board the bus. The legless Hasher from Thailand seemed genuinely disappointed that none of the trail options were suitable for his wheelchair.
On the bus and ready to roll.

Here’s nine minutes of views from the bus ride:

And here are the last two minutes of the journey:

And now some photographs from the hike:

Anal Receptive giving last-minute guidance to the Hashers.
And off we go! The folks walking down the road in the background are the ones who opted for the long trail.
I followed the medium trail folks for the first portion of my trail.
A view of the valley I’ll be walking soon.
That’s me and Cums Alone bringing up the rear.
Just up ahead is where my group, Pubic Head, BF’s Wet Spot. and Cums Alone veered to the right to avoid climbing that mountain.
Pubic Head leading the way on our “sane” trail.
Country living.
A horny carabao.
The Naugsol Falls.
Stepping into Alta Vista with Easter Mountain in the background.

We stopped in at The Rite Spot for some lunch, then continued to the On-Home venue at Bella Monte hotel.

And the beers commenced to flowing.
More Hashers than available chairs. A lot bigger turnout than anticipated.
It’s nice on ice!
Time to Circle up.
I’m over 70, so I’m allowed to sit during the Hash Circle.
Hashers, Hashers, everywhere!
Time on the ice for Hash violations. Cums Alone (Swan) broke a bottle of beer. Shame on you!
No ifs, ands, or butts about it!

At the conclusion of the Hash, we headed to It Doesn’t Matter for the after-Hash gathering.

That’s the largest crowd I ever did see at It Doesn’t Matter.

And that’s how this year’s version of the Anniversary Hash went down. Oh, I also have a new Hash shirt to comemerate the event.

The front side…
…and the back side. Do any of those Hashers look familiar?

We recreated the image on the shirt at the Hash yesterday:

Pubic Face, Cums Alone, Get Your Rocks Off, Cum Together, and Pubic Head.

And life goes On-On at the Hash!

A reminder of how much things have changed since we learned to fly:

I Musk say, it just ain’t Wright by Elon way you look at it.

From the January 2023 LTG archives, I sadly recall the 12th anniversary of my mother’s passing. Gone, but never forgotten.

Today’s YouTube provides the reasons you want to avoid these five places in the Philippines. Well, I think the Angeles City concerns are overblown. You won’t get scammed if you ain’t stupid. It also seems like common sense to avoid the overcrowded, poverty-stricken areas of Manila, especially at night. And anyone who would voluntarily go to the terrorist infested Muslim areas in the southern Philippines must have a death wish.

Get the mouthwash ready:

But it grows on you.
I hear you knockin’, but you can’t come in. I’m no grammar Nazi, but that apostrophe is not needed in this context.
At least it wasn’t a Hash run!

With that, I’ll bring this post to a close. I’m joining the Bangkok Hashers for a bar crawl this evening. I’m not sure what I’m getting myself into, but I’ll bail if it gets too wild. I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow.

It’s 1963, so let’s go surfin’! I was only eight years old when this song came out, but as I grew up, the Beach Boys became one of my favorite groups.

Ha, I was in Korea just below the DMZ. My job was to be a speed bump if the Norks came across.
