Another Hash Run

I must be off the charts…

I did it again—hashed and lived to tell about it. My version of yesterday’s trail wasn’t all that challenging. I headed out with every intention of doing the whole thing, but then an easy paved incline left me huffing and puffing, so prudence dictated that I skip the trail’s big hill climb near the end. Talking to others who did the hill, I realized I’d made a wise choice. It was rife with lots of root trip hazards and difficult overgrown limbs and bushes to duck under. No, thank you!

We gathered at the junction of the Govic and National Highway for the start of the Hash.
And we are On-On!
Most of the early part of the trail was on pavement, so moments like this were enjoyable.
When the day’s big climb began, I parted ways with the other Hashers and walked the highway to the On-Home.
The On-Home was at Sully’s house in Calapandayan.
Leech My Nuggets was the first of the runners to finish the trail.
Enjoying the nice bay views at Sully’s.
Enjoying some cold beers before the Circle commenced.
Circle up!
The Hares, Derby’s Bitch and Lick and Spit, on ice.
Time is passing.
Tiny Cunt got the Hashit this week.
My trail was a mostly flat 5K.
The beauty of the bay.
Where the mountains meet the water.
A sky full of color.
The after-Hash gathering at It Doesn’t Matter.

It’s good to be alive and Hashing!

From Facebook Memories: nine years ago, I took Loraine—the woman who was supposed to share my upcoming life in the Philippines—to Boracay Island to celebrate her 50th birthday.

Two weeks later she broke my heart by leaving me for another man. Looking back on it now, I’d say I dodged a bullet. Thank you, Jesus!

Now it’s September 2022 in the LTG archives, and I attended a memorial gathering for a recently deceased friend, Don Bullock. This triggered the usual thoughts about the uncertainty of what—if any—future lies ahead for us. It also made me wonder whether I’d be missed when I’m gone. I guess it won’t matter one way or the other to me.

It’s been a while since we’ve checked in with Reekay, and in today’s YouTube video, he talks about the pitfalls of looking for a good woman in a local church. Well, I’m not a churchgoer anyway, but the idea of going to church to find a girlfriend seems more than a little weird to me. Yeah, I know—I worship beer and used to meet the women in my life in bars. That didn’t work out so well for me either. I got lucky finding Swan. Thanks again, Jesus!

More of that funny business:

I guess Spock didn’t get the point.
Man, your wife appears to have male genes.
Something doesn’t add up here, but then, I was never good at math.

And on that note, we’ll bring this post to an end. I’m already working on what I’ll be posting tomorrow—something a reader suggested. I’m not promising it will be better than my usual drivel, but at least it will be a little different. See you then!

This being a Hash post and all, I thought I’d share the lyrics to a Hash song I crafted a few years ago:

Well, you can rock it you can roll it
You can stop and you can stroll it at the Hash
When its muddy and you're spinnin'
You keep on movin' when you're feelin' chicken at the Hash
Doing the trail the way you like it all throughout the nation at the Hash

Ah, let's go to the Hash
Let's go to the Hash, (oh baby)
Let's go to the Hash, (oh baby)
Let's go to the Hash
Come on, let's go to the Hash

Well, you can swing it you can groove it
You can really start to move it at the Hash
Where the paths are the smoothest
And the hiking is the coolest at the Hash
All the dudes and the gashes get their kicks at the Hash
Let's go!

Let's go to the Hash
Let's go to the Hash, (oh baby)
Let's go to the Hash, (oh baby)
Let's go to the Hash
Come on, let's go to the Hash
Let's go!

Sing it along with Danny and the Juniors!
