A sunny afternoon made for a pleasant Hash for the few who chose to participate. I was surprised to see only six Hashers gathered at the start of the trail. Seventeen showed up at the On-Home, so numbers are way down right now. Lots of the European expat community go back home during the rainy season, so that’s part of the reason for the low numbers. But it’s still a good time for those of us who can attend.
I accompanied the Hares for the trail marking, so I didn’t do the trail again in the afternoon. Instead, I walked from the starting point to the beer stop to greet the Hashers as they arrived. It was about a 30-minute walk, and I had to hustle to get there because I knew it wouldn’t take our marathoner, Fast And Loose, long to complete the first 5K of the Hash trail before the beer stop. I was correct in my assumption–it took her 34 minutes. Our beer stop was at a recently opened store/hangout in San Isidro owned by Hashers Smurf 69 and her hubby, Covid 69. Everyone who came by seemed to enjoy a cold beverage on the way to our On-Home at Kim’s Place in Baloy.
Here are some photos from our Hash day:

More after-Hash fun at It Doesn’t Matter, and then another Hash Monday came to an end. Keep ’em coming!
Meanwhile, in other news, there was a big earthquake down in Mindanao that caused some deaths and destruction yesterday.

You can see just how damn scary it must have been to have experienced this quake here:
From Facebook memories, a reminder of what I was doing on this day back in 2009:

It’s on to October 2019 in the LTG archives, and in this post, I talk about the Barretto bar scene, and one bar in particular, Cheap Charlies. This used to be one of my favorite hangouts back in the day, but now I only visit a couple of times a month. Things change, and so did I. All the gals I used to know there are long gone, and the lady drink prices (250 pesos) have been raised beyond my personal limit of 200 pesos. The former owner I mentioned, Graham, survived his stroke and, last I heard, is being cared for by family back in the UK.
I came across another vlogger who makes time-travel videos. I don’t think Clara is quite as fun to watch as the other one I posted (Emma), but you can watch and decide for yourself.
Try these on for size:

There was a man who had worked his whole life in a pickle factory. One day he came home and told his wife that he had been fired from his job.
She began to scream and yell, “You have given them twenty yearsof devoted service. Why did they fire you?”
“For twenty years I’ve wanted to stick my pecker in the pickle slicer,” he explained, “and today I finally did it!”
The wife ran over and pulled his pants down to see what damage had been done. “You look okay,” she said with a sigh of relief. “So what happened to the pickle slicer?”
“Well,” he said with hesitation, “they fired her, too.”
Should have used a cucumber.

Another day, another post. I’m not ready to stop yet!
