You can say that again

Interesting. I just watched an animated version of The Prophet last night. Review pending.

Sometimes, the way is steep, but even steepness has its rewards.

Ruby Tuesday

For what it’s worth, I think it’s good to see you embracing contentment.

And now, I’m wondering what sort of soup you could make with that snake.

A good Hare day

Short-but-sweet sounds pretty good to me, as trails go. Congrats to the newly de-virginated Hash virgins.

Hare time

Good luck with the Haring!

Sending out an SOS

With a blog title like “Sending Out an SOS,” I’m surprised you didn’t embed the video of The Police’s “Message in a Bottle.” Then again, Sting might be aghast to see his song reinterpreted to mean “sending out a shit-on-a-shingle.”

The way it went

It sounds as though the meeting ended amicably enough, and it’s good to know you’ve got loyalists who would be willing to leave if you left. I hope this doesn’t curdle into some sort of factionalism, but since all the people seemed to conduct themselves more or less decently during the meeting, I’m optimistic that you all can get through a season of darts without any more small-mindedness rearing its ugly head. As always, communication is key, and you all communicated your viewpoints at the meeting. Kudos.

So are you still reluctant to play darts, given what’s happened, or are you going to go with the flow and enjoy the rest of the season?

Give a little bit…

Good luck with that meeting!

Seek and ye shall find

Nice walk!

Here’s hoping that sticky issues can be peaceably resolved at the singles-league meeting. It’d be a shame for you to drop out of darts, even if only for a little while.

Stick a fork in me

Darts drama. Someone should make a TV movie-of-the-week.

And they all lived happily ever after…

I’m still trying to figure out what a “hunter’s Jo” is. In Korean, a “jo” is a bird.

Tajo = ostrich
Chil-myeon-jo = turkey (lit., “seven-faced bird”)

At least the landlord (landlady?) soap opera turned out well, and the other young lady ended up with paying work, although I hope it’s not the kind of work that’ll make her boyfriend jealous.

Double down

Sorry to read about the drama. I hope your housekeeper gets her job back, but it sounds as if the landlord’s daughter (is she now the official landlady?) is a bit of a dragon-lady.

As for Jicel (bastardization of “Giselle”? or does she pronounce her name the Spanish way, i.e., “hee-sell”?)… you’ve had ample time to learn lessons from previous mistakes, so I’ll just leave it at that.

Down and outs

A hard-fought, hard-won game! Consistency really is the big issue, isn’t it. Good luck as you strive for it.

The dirty dozen

Congrats on the 26.3K day! Good luck with the darts.

Nada thing

All the people?! NOOOOOOOOO!!!

6,450,022 steps is like walking from Incheon to Busan along the Four Rivers trail almost six times!

I agree re: architecture. If you live in a neighborhood called “Highview” in Spanish, then you ought to have a house that gives you a nice, high view. A vista, if you will.

Eight is enough

Did Scott give himself a little extra protein by eating that beetle?

The drying rice has me curious. In Korea, it’s laid out on nets or tarps so it can be easily lifted off the road without also picking up a bunch of road grit. Is the rice in that photo directly on the road, or is it lying on top of something I can’t see?

A lazy Tuesday

Putting up filler is something that every blogger who blogs daily must do from time to time. Understandable. I look forward to an interesting post tomorrow.

A good day on trail

A Hash is like life: lots of ups and downs.

Great pics, no muddy asses this time around. And it’s good to make friends with the hill folk; when the apocalypse finally occurs, you’ll be the last white people eaten!

A decade without you

My respects to your mom.

White line fever

No kimchi, eh? That’s a cardinal sin. The angels have taken note.

Awesome walk pics as usual.

Out scouting

Relive seems like a nice app.

Advantages: good summary of your walk, good motivation to improve because it aids visualization of what you’ve accomplished.

Disadvantages: I wasn’t able to use the full-screen feature, for some reason, so all the photos were scrunched and hard to see.

I guess it doesn’t pay to wear white when you’re on a muddy trail. I feel sorry for Scott’s shorts.

The shanties and trails all radiate their own special beauty.

Beers and darts

Whoops! “Dong” should be “doing”! D’oh! I guess I need to work on my consistency.

» Posted By Kevin Kim On 16/January/2021 @ 7:16 pm

Congrats on dong so well in your singles league. Keep working on consistency. I’ve been watching David Goggins videos of late; the guy is intimidating, but kind of inspiring. Maybe a dose of Goggins will help improve your darting. Or scare you away from darts entirely.

Taking care of unfinished business

Good luck with singles league. Nice pics of the arduous hike. Sorry to read that there was so much difficulty with the terrain and the trail markings. The kids along the trail were all cute!

A guilt-free white man

I remember when Michael Douglas got HPV and blamed it on the oral sex he was administering to his wife, the hot and lovely Catherine Zeta-Jones. She was none too happy to be accused of being pestilential, but last I checked, the two are still together despite having separated for a time.

Pulled pork: beautiful.
Cornbread: beautiful.
Brussels sprouts: gross. You couldn’t sear ’em in a pan? Heh.

I hope your new neighbor proves to be a decent fellow.

» Posted By Kevin Kim On 13/January/2021 @ 8:29 pm

Scrape it together

I’m not sure I understand what happened. How did you guys end up getting your signals crossed? What was the nature of the misunderstanding about where to meet? Was “hitting the wall” a planned part of the trail, or was it a sign you guys were off the trail? Why’d you end up stopping early if not for reasons of fatigue? Did someone get lost and go off the trail? Maybe I need to reread this post.

Sticking it in all the right places…

Lucky’s doing his job.

Congrats on your new chair! Looks good. So does the food. Congrats as well on whomping the hapless Mark, and it’s good to know your back is doing better.

“my relatively drama-free life”

They obviously don’t read your blog.

A Sunday morning stroll

Nice pics of your stroll! Beauty is where you find it.

Good luck with the new office chair. I’m hoping to buy a new desk and chair myself.

Just try not to give “Mary” any more $$$. All you’re doing is encouraging her to keep sapping your finances.

Mourning in America

To claim that there is not a single bit of evidence of electoral fraud is to ignore the mountains of testimony—and video—saying and showing otherwise (I’ll point you to left-leaning Tim Pool, who has been talking about this very topic for weeks). Of course, the left-leaning media aren’t interested in showing this evidence, which is why you have to consume alt-media sources; they tend to be a hell of a lot more truthful and fair in their reporting. Stick to the mainstream media—which is a naïve thing to do—and you won’t hear any of this. (BTW, the “alt” in “alt-media” has nothing to do with “alt-right.”)

We’ll survive the Biden administration, although it’s not clear that Biden himself will survive the Biden administration. I’m expecting plenty of bleeding eyeballs, senior moments, and accidental wet farts while on camera. The pendulum will swing back eventually, and I’d like to think that, when it does, the flaws in our legal and electoral systems will be patched up, at least temporarily, by people who love their country.
