Since women love playing “Guess what I’m thinking” mind games while pretending nothing is wrong when something obviously is, I think this question should be addressed primarily to women. Women love to pretend that men have some sort of ESP. Instead, they need to learn to use their damn words.
I wonder how many years it will take for that property to get developed.

Climbing the stairway to heaven
1. Gorgeous spider! Do you know what species it is?
2. In the picture captioned “Going down,” the girl in the foreground grew a second pair of eyes. I thought I was seeing things at first, but she really seems to have four eyes.
3. Your pulled-pork sandwich looks a lot better than the one I recently ate. In my case, the burger joint formed the pulled pork into a patty, then melted cheese around it to reinforce the patty’s shape. Weird. Yours looks the way such a sandwich is supposed to look.
4. Namsan’s main staircase has over 1100 steps. How does your Stairway to Heaven compare?

Ah, okay. I guess I was in Korean mode: if you’re on a tourist visa in Korea, you must leave the country every 90 days to renew your 90-day period of stay. And as far as I know, there’s no limit on doing that. I further assumed the PI must be the same. You probably explained all this in the past, and I either failed to pay attention or simply forgot. Goofy or senile—your choice.

I’m not sure I understand the visa thing. You already leave the country every—what—60 days to renew your tourist-visa interval. I don’t get what the three-year limit is, and how this is different from leaving every 90 days. I assume “last extension” isn’t literally your last extension before being forced to move to another country. So weird, though, to have the status of a tourist while thinking about moving into that blue house. Would be nice for you to become a permanent resident so you can avoid that 60-day crap. You gonna be doing that when you’re in your 90s? Constantly obliged to leave the country and come back?

Well, you can’t buy sincerity, warmth, or true companionship, but you can rent a cheap, shallow facsimile. And if you’ve no interest in going any deeper, then renting will keep you in the shallow end of the pool. It all comes back to transactions.

When a bear wanders into town and starts eating townspeople, you put it down. Doesn’t matter whether the bear is evil or just hungry; it’s dangerous and has to be stopped.
The whole wife-not-pressing-charges thing is often seen in abusive relationships. I hope she recovers and lives a happier life.

A lot going on, indeed. I wonder whether the outcome for Daddy Jim might have been different had he had access to better health care that could have dealt with the swelling, etc.

Good luck finding actual friends that you can hang out with without having to rent them! And by “friends,” I mean real friends—people who come over regularly, who are there in times of trouble, people who share their intimate secrets and invite you on long trips with them. People you’re willing to cook for, to help when necessary (not just out of charity), to sacrifice for—people who actually enrich you. Friendly acquaintances aren’t friends.

I don’t know Agnes, but if she’s got four kids, and she works where she works, she doesn’t sound like the type to make wise life-choices. Kissing Baldy while on your dime fits that pattern.
If your readership is anything like mine, you’ve probably got a lot of “lurkers” who never bother to make themselves known. I used to think I could cultivate an awesome commenting community, but I’ve long given up on that goal. Most of my commenters simply address me directly and never talk to each other. Frustrating, but maybe my own introversion is the root cause of the problem. Anyway, I’m pretty sure you’ve got lurkers who read your work but never bother to react to it for reasons ranging from laziness to shyness.
