#stayathome

Well, it’s not technically diet Coke, here they just call it No Sugar Coca-Cola. It’s all the same to me.

Glad you had a great day. There are lots of worse places to be than Colorado. It is one of my favorites.

Mercy me!

Thanks, Bob. I did give her some food and 500 pesos. Haven’t asked her to, um, work under me, yet. We’ll see.

HaHa! Now, those 48 bottles I purchased are for use at my house. I think I had 4 yesterday. So at that rate I’ll be good for a couple of weeks…

Yeah, it’s more akin to sitting around in the backyard with a bud than the hanging out in a bar vibe. Definitely better than sitting home alone. He’s got a nice view of the town from up there too. I figure I’ll only impose myself a couple of times a week though…

And then there were none

HaHa! Well, I just checked and Burn Notice is available on Amazon Prime. Looks like I’ve got a way to fill some lockdown hours this weekend…

Hang in there, Jerry. Glad you have the ability to self-medicate as needed.

» Posted By John McCrarey On 22/April/2020 @ 5:55 pm

Kev, yeah and if Jim hadn’t have been late I’d definitely have given the manager a heads up. Oh well, a friend saw the birthday waitress yesterday and she was not happy about losing her job. You know, I do think I watched the first season of Burn Notice way back when I was living part-time in the USA. I’ll have to see if it is on Amazon.

Soju, damn I would jump all over that Corona Premier if I could find it here. I was a NETFLIX subscriber for years, then they hired that lying cunt Susan Rice to their Board so I did a boycott in protest. They still send me emails trying to entice me back.

Running on empty

Rascal, he San Miguel brewery has stopped production, I’m not sure if that is why.

Kev, oh as obvious as that finding is, it’s still one of the more sane things currently being talked about. The President says he’ll decide when and how to end the quarantine. I’m not sure sanity will prevail.

No escape

HaHa! Yeah, I did pick up some extra cans of Spam when I was shopping the other day. Maybe I can entice her with that: “Hey baby, there’s plenty more where this came from!”

Doing what I do

Doggone it!

False alarm

Yeah, stay at home even if it kills you. I haven’t felt this rebellious since I was a teenager!

What will I do now?

It may be getting a whole lot worse. I’m waiting for confirmation. Will post about it later today.

A 10K kinda day

What!? First, they take away my beer and now the hair? Is there no joy left to be found in life?

» Posted By John McCrarey On 16/April/2020 @ 3:27 pm

Yeah, I see what you are saying. Math was always my worst subject. Thanks for showing me how that works. So, what I was trying to say is is I hiked 1/3 less. A math and a phrasing error! I’m starting to feel like Joe Biden!

Rockin’ in the free world

Yeah, it is pretty shocking to see what is taking place in what are otherwise known as “free countries”. But it also illustrates just how fragile those freedoms we take for granted truly are. If you ever wondered how the state can so easily dominate a population look no further than your fellow citizens who enable at every opportunity. That is the sad part to me.

Good luck to your sister, Jerry. These are good times to be a “tough old broad”. You stay safe too.

Ai yi yi!

Soju, Thanks for the heads up on Angel! It would be truly ironic if I robbed a bank. All the gals here seem to think I am one. That’s what happens when you have a good peso-nality like I do. And just to be clear, I always abide by curfew. It is what I do BEFORE 6 p.m. that may be questionable.

No kidding on the rat fink “friends”, Kevin. At least they have revealed themselves for all to see.

The supply chains never operated that efficiently here anyway. I understand the port in Manila is overwhelmed with container ships and nowhere to offload the cargo. This country doesn’t function well during the best of times, watching the ineptness on display now would be almost funny–from a distance!

No worries, I’m playing it relatively safe. It’s a biggie to violate curfew and I don’t do that. Walks without an authorized destination may be a gray area, but my story is I’m just taking a roundabout way to the store in order to avoid people on the street who may be carrying the virus. I’m not sure what would happen to the customers at the Speakeasy if the police raided. I’d probably just plead ignorance–“oh, since it was open I thought it was okay to be here. Sorry!”

Jerry, if there is a way to post pics in the comments I don’t know it either. I’m the original techno-peasant. Had the daughter of one of my helper’s friends set up my smart TV so I could watch Amazon Prime on the big screen. It was kind of embarrassing…

Doctor’s orders

Ah, glad your sister is doing okay, Jerry. Sounds like you making the best of it.

The last supper?

Soju, I think our definitions are poles apart. *ahem* Good one though!

HaHa! Honestly, when I asked the question about the equator I thought “hell, I can look that up”. And then an evil voice in my head said: “Kevin will do it!”. Thanks for that! 🙂

And good point, Brian. I’m sure I’m only halfway around the world. I don’t know if they even give an “equator badge”. Although I did get one for walking the equivalent of going through the center of the earth…

I’d rather be a lion than a sheep

Scary times for sure. I wonder if the Captcha code has some kind of, er, virus…

Ins and outs

I think I wouldn’t be alive now if I hadn’t changed my lifestyle…

I’m not drinking anymore!

But, but, I found it on the internet so it must be true! I’m about as ignorant as they come when it comes to Buddhism so I appreciate your efforts to debunk the quote. Still, the sentiment resonates with me even if it is not Devine in nature.

The stores here remain pretty well-stocked for the most part. They’ve placed purchase limits on some items, but otherwise, it’s business as usual. The lines are caused by limiting the number of customers in the store at any given time. And yes, they have put down markers at the checkouts so folks can maintain social distancing.

That’s a good point about being home at 6 deterring burglars. Also, it forces me to walk home in daylight which should reduce making me a target for armed robbery. Silver linings…

Seven year ache

Well, it goes on a charger so no battery per se, it normally holds the charge for 5 days. Some kind of malfunction, but I’ve tried doing a “reboot” and that didn’t work.

Yeah, what I like about the Fitbit though is that it measures other aspects like heart rate and sleep patterns. I’ll find a replacement eventually, in the meantime, a pedometer will have to do. That’s how I started out, so it’s kinda back to the future.

Indeed, time does fly!

Does it get any better than this?

I was just thinking about the flavor, don’t really have a plan. But the sauce idea sounds great!

Yeah, I was a Styx fan back in the 80s. And the smile? Tits in the face and look where my hand is… Does it get any better than that?

I have yet to receive a clear answer as to who or why is doing these burns. Since they are so ubiquitous I have to assume they serve a purpose and are probably not illegal.

Yep, pineapple is going to be a standard chili ingredient henceforth. How do you think it would go with baby back ribs?

And yes, that belly dancer is Turkish but I don’t think she looks anything like Ernest Borgnine!

Are the natives getting restless?

Yeah, every day I get a little more paranoid and situationally aware when I’m out walking. Desperate people will do desperate things. I just wish the authorities were more concerned with feeding folks than enforcing meaningless quarantine restrictions. Feed ’em and they’ll stay home, how hard is that?

It did enter my mind that my April Fool’s joke might backfire on me. I’ll be more careful to be discreet on future hikes.

Keep on smiling

HaHa! Yeah, it CAN be done.
