Let’s talk about my Tuesday. Well, not a lot to say. I went to the immigration office and was granted permission to continue my stay in the Philippines for another 60 days. Then I got the grocery shopping taken care of. Stopped by Dr. Jo’s for my enhanced Ozempic injection (I’m up to 2.5 mg now). A month (four weekly injections) at this level cost me 12000 pesos. Last week I dropped 3.4 pounds, bringing me down to 238. So, I’m moving in the right direction.
When beer o’clock arrived, we headed to Baloy Beach.

Our new beach venue is Tropical Zone, and we once again enjoyed our visit: wine, beer, and no problem making change.

When it was time for some grub, we paid a rare visit to Fox Beach Resort.

So, what brought us to back to Fox Beach Resort? We came for this:

When we told Norman what we wanted, he had to check with the cook to see if they were available yet. The Mexican menu is new and hasn’t been fully stocked for implementation. I was relieved when Norman reported that they could fulfill our birria desires.
How were they? Honestly, a little disappointing. We were expecting what we used to get at Myleen’s (the former chef there is now at Fox), and these were not as good as they used to be. Norman told me the new cook wasn’t there, which explains the difference. The side sauce sucked as well. Next time I’ll confirm that the Myleen’s guy is there in advance. Still, they are the best (and only) birria tacos in town.
We enjoyed catching up with Norman, and at least for now, Fox Beach Resort is back in rotation. Oh, and we were once again the only customers at both venues last night. Glad I’m not in the business!
And that’s all there was to Tuesday.
From the August 2020 LTG archives, I write about my discomfort with being in a triangle with my latest love, Iline. That post also has a link to something I’d written about “My Brand New Plan” back in 2017. That didn’t work out the way I’d planned either. And just to end the suspense, here is the post about how Iline and I decided to take a step back. My oh my, I’d almost forgotten all the drama that once filled my life. Hmm, I guess it still does.
Here’s a YouTube short from the Filipina Pea discussing whether Filipinas are loyal. I’d say it depends.
Let’s get these out of the way:

And so it goes.

Good to see things are perfect between you and Swan again, John. It’s amazing what a full night’s sleep can do to one’s decision-making process. Not that I’d know much about that, mind you. I sometimes act out what I’m dreaming of, in the waking world, or sleep talk. I almost strangled my first girlfriend as she tried to slip out of our bed once. I was dreaming about fighting Freddy Krueger (lol) and my sleepy brain interpreted her trying to get out of bed as Freddy trying to run away. I would repeatedly catch him but he would always slip out of my grasp. I thought I finally had Freddy and wrapped my arms around his neck to strangle him or break his neck, and woke up to my girlfriend screaming and shouting, my arms around her neck. She said she’d been trying to gently get out of bed without waking me, but I kept clamping on to a leg or arm of hers to pull her back into bed; when she gave it one last try I just shot up and wrapped my arms around her neck. She thought I was awake and going for a hug until I started constricting. We were both a little freaked out lol.
Another time, when I was living with my folks, I had a dream I was on a yacht and someone was repeatedly shouting there was a bomb on board and I had to jump overboard or I’d die. So I did what I had to do and jumped overboard…only to faceplant on my bedroom floor. My dad was in the doorway and had been shouting I had to get up (there’s a bomb) or I’d be late for college (I’d die). From my dad’s perspective I was dead to the world and then just suddenly flopped out of bed and lay there, facedown in the carpet, for a second before properly waking up.
My parents thought someone had broken into the house once and gingerly crept upstairs to check on my brother and I, where they found me straight up pissing into my little bedroom trashcan. They asked “what the hell are you doing?!” and I, eyes still closed, mumbled “I’m using the toilet, what does it look like?” I was dreaming I was using a public toilet. I didn’t even know about that until the next morning. My folks were laughing their asses off when I asked why my trashcan had ‘water’ in it.
Nowadays I apparently tend to talk about random things in my sleep, like raising goats, or complaining about needing car parts when I know nothing about cars.
19 out of 20 for me. Never used a walkman.
