Scenes from a Sweet Stroll

I think I’ll have another beer…

Nothing to offer but more of the same old, same old, today. But I’ll keep it as painless as possible.

For the Sunday Sweets Stroll, I took a photo of each neighborhood we visited to share views of what real life looks like in my little corner of the world:

Neighborhood #1.
Calling out to one of our regulars who lives here, “Candy time!”
Stepping out of our first neighborhood of the day.
And stepping into the second neighborhood.
Neighborhood #2.
Entering neighborhood three.
Candy is dandy.
A narrow escape from ‘hood #3.
Heading for the fourth neighborhood.
Not much happening on a Sunday morning.
Let’s check out our next neighborhood.
The fifth stop was pretty busy.
This kid cracked me up.
Those dreaded stairs up to neighborhood six.
Will they ever end?
Why yes, yes they did.
Our busiest stop of the morning.
Enjoy your sweets!
Leaving neighborhood six behind.
And heading for seven.
A tomb with a view.
A short life, but apparently well-lived.
Seventh heaven and the last stop of the day.
Getting on down to the Govic highway.
That’s what Easter Mountain looks like from here.
Our chariot awaits.
Thanks for joining us!

The remainder of our Sunday routine includes a visit to Red Bar.

Hangin’ with the Red Bar lovelies.

We had some grub delivered from Foodies and shared it with the girls, then moved on for our nightcap at Jumpin’ Jacks. I got my ass kicked in two games of pool, then just chilled at the bar, enjoying my brews. Back home to a batch of smoothies and a good night’s sleep. Does it get any sweeter than that?

It’s the end of November 2019 in the LTG archives. I’m visiting Korea to say farewell to my former Deputy in Pyeongtaek before her departure home to the USA. Then it was back to Seoul for a long-ass hike with the famous distance-hiker, Kevin Kim. Kevin is also famous as a foodie, and he treated me to a great home-cooked meal as a reward for surviving the hike. That turned out to be my last trip to the country that changed my life.

Speaking of Kevin Kim, he sent me this YouTube video that served to remind me that having a “do-over” life is not necessarily a good thing. It’s a combo comedy-sci-fi short (around twenty minutes) and a very enjoyable watch. Go see for yourself!

Watching that reminded me of an old comic I read back in my teens called “I have eternal life, and it is killing me.” Thanks to Google, I was able to find this version of the story to share. Be careful what you wish for!

Let’s finish with a smile or three:

Who gives a crap?
What the hell…
Or just have AI render what you need.

Sorry, I’ll try to do better next time. It’s Hash Monday and another Leech My Nuggets/Anal Receptive trail through the hills. No worries, I’ve already got my shortcut plotted. But I am going to do the hilly part this week. Assuming I survive, I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow.

Last night at Red Bar, the playlist was classic rock hits from the 1960s. I enjoyed the hell out of hearing songs I’d practically forgotten, like this one:
