Mission accomplished. Well, it was yesterday anyway. Still taking things as they come, one day at a time.
Yep, I had a good Wednesday. One of the nicer hikes I’ve done in a while took us out in the seldom-visited Cawag area. It’s nice to have someone around with a car to get us there. Thanks for that, Scott! I’ll let the pictures do the talking:
Just we three. We started our hike out by the Seatrium shipyard. I spotted these cranes, but only saw one Swan. Oh, well. No egrets.Off we go!A peek at the bay. That’s Snake Island.Coming into a sleepy little village.See what I mean?Village life.A hillside dwelling.A zoom shot of that other shipyard formerly known as Hanjin. I believe it is operated by Hyundai Heavy Industries now.Passing through the Club Morocco subdivision. It’s owned by the same company as Alta Vista. Not nearly as developed, but in many ways it is much nicer than the one where I live. Then we headed for the beach. One of the locals told us that the green thing is a floating bar.The beach ahead. On the beach.I love that house and could happily live there. If it were located somewhere else. No road access to this village, and I’m too old to lug my groceries and beer way out here.Scott found the house worthy of an AI enhancement. There is a water well, though.A quiet, laid-back lifestyle. We sweetened their day with some lollipops.Leaving the beach and village behind, we had a short hill climb. And enjoyed the river views along the way.Nothin’ but good vibes.Back on the empty streets of Club Morocco. Taking a break in a shady spot near the clubhouse. This guard came out to greet us and recognized Swan from the days he worked Alta Vista.Until we meet again, Club Morocco.A quick stop to take in the view. That’s a good one!The bay to the left. And to the right. Thanks for sharing some of your photos with me, Scott. There and back again was just shy of 7K.
Back home for a nap, a shower, and some brownie baking, then it was off to wish Billy a happy 59th birthday at Alley Hideout.
We arrived early to make sure we could get a seat. It was good that we did, the place was packed at the 5 pm start. The birthday person. I use female pronouns, but I’m pretty sure Billy identifies as male. I know the Filipinos call him/her “kuya,” which means brother. Not that it matters; Billy is sweet and kind and doesn’t mind what you call her.The food table. I contributed a batch of brownies and received several compliments about how tasty they were. One person asked me about the ingredients, and I had to confess I leave that up to Betty Crocker. He was surprised I was using a mix.The girl at my table.Singing that birthday song!
The Wednesday dart tourney commenced after the party, but I didn’t stick around for that. We moved on to our nightcap at Queen Victoria.
Not too busy during our visit, but we always enjoy ourselves here.
And that’s what a good day for me looks like.
It’s July 2020 in the LTG archives, and I’m feeling a little out of kilter. Another nice date with Jessa, but for some reason I’m holding back. I’d come to regret that someday. Or maybe fate knew that there would be a better option down the road.
In today’s YouTube Shorts video, the Filipina Pea says to me that I’m in the top 1%. Ah, ain’t she sweet to notice.
Let’s go on with these, shall we?
I’ve got to hand it to you, Joe.And leave the commas out!Excuse me, miss. I can see your, er, never mind.
