Phlegm-flam man

Well, my dad used his belt and mom would yank my hair. Both were painful but effective.

Here’s the lowdown on yesterday’s Hash. Bottom line, I survived, but maybe that was just luck. My cough and phlegm-filled lungs came into play as we made a climb that was more difficult than I anticipated. For the first time in a long time, I experienced some breathing discomfort. Swan was worried about me, saying my face was very red, but I stubbornly pushed on. My heart rate hit the low 130s, which made me a little nervous, but I figured that once we reached the top, there would be less stress to deal with. That proved to be the case, for the most part. I used my nebulizer for the first time in over a year before bed last night. I’m still hocking up the gunk today, but somewhat less frequently. Hopefully, I’m on the road back to normalcy.

There were two additional climbs that I managed to avoid, reducing a 7K trail to just under 5K. It wasn’t easy, but I got it done. Other than the physical issues, I enjoyed the trail. Here are a few pictures from Run #1725 of the Subic Bay Hash House Harriers.

The Hashers gathered for the start of the Hash in Alta Vista. That was convenient for me.
And we are On-On!
Leaving Alta Vista behind.
The easy part of the trail.
Up next, a wet walk through a rice paddy.
We gave this horny carabao a wide berth.
Let the climbing commence!
On the way up.
A view on the way up.
Steeper than it looks.
Even Fast and Loose needed to take a pause.
A generally well-marked trail.
Sweets for the sweet.
Passing through Mountain Mama Onelia’s place.
That would be her.
The worst is over.
A Hash poser.
The view from here.
Looking down on Barretto.
Here she Cums Alone.
Time to step it on down.
Arriving On-Home at It Doesn’t Matter.
Yesterday’s trail. Those blue lines show where I shortcut, eliminating two downs and ups.
53 Hashers in attendance yesterday, including a large contingent from the Angeles City Corona Hash.
Some of the Corona Gash.
Circle up!
Hares on the ice.
Recognition time.
Pubic Head celebrated 1,100 runs with the Subic Bay Hash, and Cums Alone was recognized for her 100th run.
Always Wet got the Hashit.
Three Hashers were celebrating birthday and we honored with a Hash cake
Including our Grand Master, Buddy Fucker.

We partied a little harder than usual after the Hash (the gals were drinking soju), and then stumbled to the trike stand for a ride back home. And so ended another Hash day in the life.

Today’s entry from the May 2022 LTG archives features a journey to Three Crosses in Olongapo, one of the most unique and difficult hikes I’ve ever taken. I doubt I have the strength and stamina to undertake it again in the future. The post also mentions the death of one of Barretto’s more unique characters, JR Welch. There is still some controversy over whether it truly was suicide or murder. Slashing your own throat seems like a difficult way to go, but I wasn’t there. The post also talks about how I triggered some Karens on Quora when I shared what Filipina bargirls call Korean men. It was intended to be funny, but I guess a “white supremacist” isn’t allowed to make jokes.

Today’s YouTube video talks about the death of an American tourist in Panglao, Bohol, who got into a drunken bar fight. I heard elsewhere that it occurred at Escape Bar, one of my favorite hangouts when I visited Alona Beach earlier this year. You know, I’ve spent a significant portion of my time in bars over the last 20 years and have never once engaged in fisticuffs. That’s just not my style. I either ignore the assholes or get up and leave. Nothing good is going to come from engaging in violence.

Maybe there’s some humor in here somewhere:

Just make the breast of it.
Brown and out and feeling a little saggy.
That’s okay, I’ve been posting my dirt here since 2005.

And now I’m done for today. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.
