No blood, no moon

No real significance in my posting this, I just liked the sentiment.

Another typical day in the life. Beers at Dive In and a couple of drinks with Jessa. Then I headed out to Palm Tree, assuming it would be a good place to watch the sun and moon do their dance. I was wrong about that. I’m not sure where the moon was at the appointed hour, perhaps behind the mountain. Ah, well. Crossed the highway, grabbed my wings, went home and ate, then called it a night.

Sometimes I wish I had a woman in my life who loves me the way my Buddy boy does. Greets me with a hug when I come home at night, and another when I wake up in the morning.
In Tagalog, bullshit translates as bola bola. If the mask fits, wear it asshole.
I finally got to experience the Monte Cristo at the Pub this morning. Good, but not as good as I remember. I prefer honey as a dipping sauce to jelly…

Yesterday’s hike was a pleasant 6K. Well, it would have been more pleasant if I felt better, but I was still glad to be out and about. Here a few pics to give you the flavor of our morning.

We departed from my house. Scott joined us later on the trail.
Easter mountain was looking good as usual.
There isn’t much thatch grass left these days, most of it has been burned off. So, it was a little surprising to have this encounter.
My favorite view on the day.
A little slick on the down hill, right Scott?
Waiting on the stragglers…
We crossed this bridge when we came to it, then made our way back to Barretto. I wasn’t feeling up to the libations at Dynamite Dicks, so took a pass.
Thank you for supporting this post.

That’s all I’ve got for now. More to come tomorrow.

  1. Sorry to read the Monte Cristo wasn’t as good as remembered. Isn’t the dipping sauce classically raspberry jam?

First and best Monte Cristo I ever had was a Bennigan’s sandwich. Totally covered in batter, fried to a crisp. Haven’t had one that good since. Might have to make my own one day.

Maybe the moon was just taking a break. Sick of appearing to all us terrestrial folks.

As for Fauci, fuck ‘im. We’re apparently about to lose the mask mandate here in Korea. My boss says it’s because Korea is following the US’s example… by which he means the US red states’ example. God knows why. Korea did a better job handling the pandemic, overall, than did the States.

Random note: I’m down to 118 kg. At this rate, I’ll make my weight goal well before December 31. More on that later at my blog.

  2. Re. Your lethargy. Have you tried to cheat your way out? Neck a couple of red bulls and then take a whole day off? Remember what Tony Robbins, Bowflex, Gene Vincent, Jesus Christ, Florence Griffiths Joyner and Hawkwind all said with clarion metronominity: rest days are essential! You never seem to take any…

  3. Kev, maybe I just remembered wrong about the dipping sauce. I know it’s good with honey, but that might not be standard fare. Ah, Bennigan’s! I think I’ve had their version way back in the day. I know I prefer that deep-frying method. John Kim’s was tasty, it just didn’t have the really fried texture.

Yep, Fauci is the poster child of government incompetence and prevarication. I hope the day comes soon when people wake up and realize they’ve been played.

Good job on the weight loss, that’s all from diet I assume. Once you add in the exercise you’ll get there in no time. Maintenance will be more fun…

  4. Dan, actually I take a break from walking on Tuesdays; that’s when I do my grocery shopping. I haven’t found a good day to not drink yet though!
