The June “get outta town” adventure is now complete, and we are safely back home to our Barretto life. Our Wednesday in Pundaquit was filled with a nice morning walk through the backstreets of town, breakfast at the Beach Bar, hanging out in the room and on the patio, dinner at a great restaurant named Paraiso, then back to the Beach Bar for more beer and wine, beach views, and a sunset. Let the good times roll!
Check out some photos from the day:

When it was time for our evening meal (we skipped lunch), it was off to Pundaquit town once more, about a 1K walk from our resort.

Then we hoofed it back to the Beach Bar for our after-dinner revelry.

When we’d had our fill of good times, we took a sandy stroll back to our hotel next door. And another fine day in the life came to a close.
Up and at ’em again this morning. Our ride home was due to arrive at 10 am, giving us plenty of time for a pleasant walk on the beach.

There’s a beach that I walk along sometimes
And maybe there I’ll meet her, and we’ll start to say “hello”
And never stop to think of any other time

Then back to the hotel to pack our bags for the journey home. Our ride was on time and dropped us at our door in just over an hour. And now it’s back to being normal again.
Facebook memories shared some photos from a Father’s Day post I did a while back:

We’ve reached the end of December 2019 in the LTG archives. Today I’ll offer up a two-fer. In this post, I go on a racist rant. No, not me, I was complaining about racists like Michael Moore. Things have only gotten worse since then. On a lighter note, I share a pictorial recipe for my favorite holiday treat: my Aunt Pat’s World Famous Fruit Salad, which I had finally found the necessary ingredients to make for the first time in the Philippines.
In today’s YouTube video, the vlogger goes on a rant about expats telling other expats who complain about things in their adopted homeland to “go back to your own country.” I’m not one of those, although I might share the wisdom of my mantra with them: “Take a deep breath. Relax. Accept the Filipino way.”
Time out for a smile:

My daily duty here is now complete. Back with more tomorrow if fate allows.
