Goodbye Cameltoe

First things first:

I will always remember the day when everything changed.

I wasn’t hungry when I left home yesterday, so I didn’t go to John’s place to start my evening. I had some drinks at It Doesn’t Matter instead. Then a few more at The Green Room. While I was there, I got a message from Lydell at Kamto asking if I wanted to join them for their last night.

Yes, a favorite hangout is closing. The sad thing is that it is closing because the landlord won’t renew the lease. Apparently, she decided that’s a nice little business they’ve got there, and so she’ll just keep it for herself. That kind of fucked up shit happens here more often than you’d think.

The last shot of the crew and me at Cameltoe. Gonna miss them.

They went out with a bang, at least. I bought several rounds of drinks as a going away present.

Went out with Ed this morning to finalize the Hash trail for tomorrow. Naturally, it was raining. The part we needed to scout out was the hill climb portion.

Most of the way up wasn’t too bad.
That’s where we needed to get.
But this rock outcropping proved to be treacherously slippery. Ed and I share the same Hare philosophy: don’t put the Hashers in unnecessary peril. In the end, we decided this climb wasn’t going to work on a wet day.

We came up with a workaround trail that will have to suffice. We’ll mark it up with chalk, paper, and powder tomorrow morning.

What else? Well, Facebook reminded me that I didn’t wake up alone six years ago.

I’m a little surprised I actually posted that risque photo on Facebook. Shame on me! I’m posting it here only to illustrate what a fucked up person I must be.

Which I guess explains this:

I’m too low for zero.

How about a bit of nostalgia from the good ol’ days? This ad for 7-Up certainly resonates today.

Maybe he could mix that 7-Up with something, um, harder…

That’s all I’ve got for now. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Sorry to hear that one of your haunts is closing—and not for any good reason. A lot of people in this world seem to have no clue how capitalism ought to work, or they know but just don’t care. Ah, well. Here’s hoping the staff can find work elsewhere.

  2. Yeah, it really is too bad. A couple of the gals will be moving over to Snackbar. That’s an ironic name now that food won’t be available from Kamto.

  3. sad to hear of the end of your favorite place.
The owner is savvy enough, I am sure she will find another avanue . as long as you and other loyal customers keep coming, and invite some of your friends too.

What’s the picture about? You post a picture of a woman in her underwear in your bed ….What’s the story? I’m guessing that it’s not one of your ex wives, or your current third wife ; as Kevin likes to remind you . 🤔
‘Technically, I’m still married to my third wife ‘ should be a slogan on a T-shirt. Maybe that’s the good pick-up line you could use. Having tried everything else, at least give this one a try.

Looking forward to John’s bar review. I didn’t know that they also had an amazing lineup of beautiful waitresses.

Glad that you’re still keeping your traditions.
Sorry to hear about the passing of your friend in town. You’re doing quite well despite your vaping. Also good news that your doctors are moving into your neighborhood. You’ll have friends to talk to ; especially since you share the same worldview and political leanings.
I’m sure there are others out there, friendly folks like that who could share conversations with you from time-to-time.
    Congratulations and god speed.

Enjoy the rest of the Hash Monday and all your traditions. I guess you’ll be sitting on the ice

  4. Ted, saw the owner yesterday when I walked by Kamto. She had a crew there stripping the place bare. I think, for now, she is going to focus on her other business, Snackbar, and maybe find some vacant space to add a kitchen to that venue.

That pic you reference is a Korean girlfriend from six years ago. It just popped up in my Facebook memories, and I shared it here. Oddly enough, the subject of my being currently legally married came up in a chat with a girl from a dating site. I’m not sure how she took it. It’s not something I lie about, though.

I should have the review of John’s bar up later today.

I no longer vape and haven’t for a year or so now. Don’t miss it either.

I don’t think I’d ever bother my docs when they move here unless I was having a medical emergency. I’m not sure we share the same political views; we haven’t discussed politics. We do seem to be of like minds regarding the scamdemic and all the suffering that has been imposed by governments in response to COVID.

Yep, I did my time on the ice yesterday. It’s part of the price you pay for being the Hare.
