Eureka!

This afternoon I found a trail that led me back to my Alta Vista subdivision. It wasn’t THE trail I was looking for, dropping me about a block away from where I anticipated arriving, but still…

I arrived at the end of a dead end street I had never ventured to before. But by God, it’s in Alta Vista, so mission accomplished!

I’m still going to find the trail I was expecting to find, I’ve got a pretty good hunch now as to where it might be.

I celebrated my discovery by taking a walk down Baloy Beach, just before sundown.

What a life, huh?

And since I was already there, I figured why not visit the Kokomo’s floater?

And finding no good reason not to, that’s just what I did!

Am I posting while drunk now? Why, yes. Yes I am!

UPDATE: Well I’ll be damned, I used the “Eureka” title way back in 2007. No one can blame me for not remembering that.

  1. Congratulations!

Are you working this trail from both ends, i.e., exploring its trailhead on some days, and exploring its endpoint on others to see where they connect in the middle? Well, whatever method you’re using, it seems to be working as you chip away at this problem, which seemed intractable at first. Eventually, you’ll know the trail forwards and backwards.

  2. Yeah, for example yesterday I backtracked the trail that had dropped me near my subdivision (Marian Hills). With that as a point of reference I continued on from that intersection and followed a path that I discerned would lead closer to my goal. And sure enough it did, although I had to exit through private property, including going through a gate. I think I will leave from where I want to end up tomorrow and I should be able to intersect with the trail I took yesterday. Process of elimination…
