The one-thousand four-hundred and seventy-ninth running of the Subic Bay Hash House Harriers is in the books. It was a good day on trail. My “sane” group shortcutted a 10K trail down to just over 6K, thereby avoiding one to the two major climbs. It was a hot day and prudence prevailed.
The trail as the Hares intended it.The “sane” group is On-On!We did our first up along a route I had never done previously. It was a hard slog but still nice to be on a new trail. And up we go!Harder than it appears. Some people actually live up here. I’d hate the daily commute.Home sweet homeCome on up, Pubic Head!Nice to be back on the (mostly) level. The first runner to pass our group (we take a 30-minute head start) was, as usual, Leech My Nuggets.Lost in the grass.A couple of big guys making their way down. You comin’?Into the great wide open.A picture while we wait on the slow pokes. No, I didn’t forget about Easter mountain…Our On-Home this week was at the Viking Resort on Baloy beach. First time we’ve used this venue and hopefully not the last. Nice surroundings, good food, and good service.Happy Gash! No, I don’t have a drinking problem. Why do you ask?
After the Hash concluded, I headed over to my friend’s place for some more beers, a plate of nachos, and some pleasant conversation. We were interrupted by a very rude customer who almost provoked a member of the kitchen crew to violence. It was ugly and my advice to my friend was to never let the jerk return. But other than that it was a very nice time.
I went home a little after 11:00 p.m. Yep, I am slowly readjusting my hours to take full advantage of the benefits of having a girlfriend to spend time with.
Things are going well so far.
Maybe I’m amazed.
