Getting sloppy wet with Jolina

Yesterday your friend Kevin Kim indicated some frustration regarding continuous imperfections in your writing. Being the good friend he is, he wrote it off thusly: “But at this point, I realize I’m dealing with a certain level of incorrigibility”. After reading today’s LTG entry, I sense your new hiking friend Paula will also soon find that your are, indeed, incorrigible.

What’s so good about it?

John, I hope what’s ailing you isn’t Covid and instead just a “bug” that afflicts all of us every now and then. I take it as a good sign you’ve noticed the grammatical oversight in the name of your new favorite establishment. Your alertness remains astute. With a little red and white paint I think you could fix that pretty quickly. Maybe during an afternoon Happy Hour when no one is paying attention. On the other hand, just feeling better by Monday’s Hash time will probably be the best outcome of your weekend of rest. I hope it happens for you!

Outta my league

Retitle this post as “Queen for a Day”. An old TV show from the B&W days of the 50’s-60’s. Maybe you saw it as a young boy. Apparenlty some of the girls in your local circle may have heard of this show, too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_for_a_Day

You’ll be sorry

Not to despair John. The results were closer than many expected effectively denying Biden/Harris the mandate Democrats were hoping for in order to start moving the country in what many of us would consider an ominous direction. The Senate appears to remain as a GOP majority, although barely, and Trump was able to align the judicial branch/Supreme Court more in line with the Constitution than many “progressives” desire. In other words, I think the uniquely American form of government with it’s system of “checks and balances” has survived and should serve to limit the “damage” some expect. What I do worry about is if Biden should have to resign due to age related issues then we’re stuck with a wild unknown in Harris who shouldn’t even be in such a position but she apparently shrewdly knew who to sleep with (sorry, make that “align with”). I’m looking forward to the emerging battle in 2024 when the Dems push further to the left and “The Squad” begins to emerge while the Republicans will counter with Nikki Haley (or at least should if they’re smart). Time will tell, but I don’t think the tax implications are going to be that significant and at least for today the stock market looked very nice indeed.

It’s in the bag

That storm headed your way is a “no kidding watch out this is a big one” kind of storm. I think it’s going to be a Cat 4 or 5 for sure. Be careful and take this one seriously.

Feeling beachy

Note to self: Try to avoid reading LTG during lunch when John and Kevin decide to discuss “big ass boulders”, ass boulders, bidets, and wiping.

BTW, shouldn’t the term be “big-assed boulders”? Maybe it depends if one is describing size or simply the nuisance factor.

Aloha from Honolulu.

Adventures in paradise

A basic rule of hiking in Korea or the PI, or even here in Hawaii. Always carry a roll of TP in the back pack.

The pot roast calling the kettle a crockpot

Chided. Very civil. Scolded is more close to what I experience on occasion. Of course, it’s all good. I appreciate he interaction. Chided makes me think of chives. That might add an interesting flavor to your next pot roast.

Old paths, new perspectives

Actually I think your glass should be considered half full at the least. You connected with some old dear friends and worked out a couple of things that probably you would never have really gotten to without this trip. And it was cooler for your afternoon strolls, so there’s that.

Weather you like it or not

Taking the liberty to re-title your title to “Weather you like it or not”. You’re welcome.

Observations

So tell us again, why are you moving there. You’re clearly happiest in Seoul/Itaewon.
