Liberté, égalité, fraternité

Those protest have as much credence as the loony anti-war protest we had during Bush. Most, not all, are fringe.

And that fringe is being stoked by pundits and loud voices on the Right (Rush, Beck et al) claiming Obama wants to use government money for abortions, create death panels and create only a government option for health care. People are encouraged to go “shout down” these officials with these accusations.

These people are entitled to feel and express any opinion or concern that they have. However it appears that no one wants to offer alternatives or new ideas, they only want to shout and make wild accusations.

As I have said before, I wish that rather than embrace the vocal fringe, the Republicans would actually offer some answers.

Great minds think alike

Yes, Frank, fight this health care reform and you will NEVER have to face death or talk about what will happen when you die. You will live forever. Don’t let Obama kill you!

Too funny. I like you Frank.

Again, I find it funny that you cite these polls now when the same polls had Bush W. at about a 29 percent approval rating.

I’m going to give the guy one year before I decide how he’s doing. So far I’d give him a C+.

Maybe I should make it a higher grade since, even without Dick Cheany, he has kept us safe from terrorist attack his entire term.

2 and out

Solid team. I had Brees last year and drafted him in one of my leagues this year. I think Ray Rice is going to have a big year and Hester will have his best season with Cutler chucking him the deep passes.

Now just pray no one (Brees) gets hurt.

Song for the day

Number two for sure. I can’t lie though, I love Dylan and don’t know much about the Flying Burrito Brothers. I’d just play the entire “Blood on the Tracks” LP and call it a day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks.

Looks like I picked a bad time to be getting older…

Funny you didn’t seem to care about the polls were when they didn’t approve of Bush and the war in Iraq.

I also don’t think you were a big fans of people like the “Dixie Bitches” that opposed and protested Bush and the war.

Why do the polls and protesters matter now?

What she said

Frank, the only thing Hawaii offered in the 60’s was a certificate of live birth. That is why that is the only thing he released, because it is all he has. There was also a birth annoucement in the local paper that day. But I am sure all that was planted because they new decades later he would make a run for President. Obama’s evil plan to socialize america and kill the elderly started back in 1961 with the bougs request for the “certificate of live birth”.

I find it amusing that you say you don’t care. If you truly don’t care then why did you bring it up?

And now his books are bad too?

I bet Obama hates kittens too. And I heard he kicks his dog.

It goes without saying that Obama is far from perfect. I am not a fan of the cap and trade and I don’t think he should have bailed out the car companies. And I think he needs to get out of campaign mode and just get things done. Say what you want about W., he had an agenda and did it and didn’t care what anyone thought about it. Obama should try it.

With that said, I think Republicans might want to stop just being the anti-Obama party and maybe come up with some ideas or alternatives. Since everyone agrees we need health care reform maybe they should come up with some solutions to counter Obama’s plan.

Frank, really. The birther thing. Still? Obama HAS produced his record of birth. In this age of high technology do you really think anyone could pull off a fake birth record and not get caught until AFTER he becomes president?

Bottom line is he is from this country and loves it every much as you do. He just has a different vision than you. Can’t we disagree with him without calling him a terrorist,a socialist or questioning where he was born? Do you really think he has a hidden agenda to destroy the country?

Running scared?

So is okay for these people, to make posters calling Obama a Socialist, question whether he was even born in the U.S., protest the taxes that are exactly the same as when Bush was in office and disrupt Town Hall meetings by just screaming and shouting but it isn’t okay for the DNC to fight back? I am glad the DNC finally has grown at least one testicle and is fighting back from the silly distractions being thrown out to keep things status quo.

And I find it very interesting that all these people that are speaking out and rasing “legitimate concerns” all look the same. They are all white, mostly middle aged and mostly male. I’ve also noticed jean shorts seems to be their fashion of choice. These people do NOT represent a majority of this country. Not even close.

You are right about the double standard. Fox News lead the charge when the Dixie Chicks had the gumption to say that they were ashamed to be from the same state as W. How dare anyone say such a thing about a president?

Meanwhile, Fox’s own Glen Beck calls Obama a racisit and says he hates white people and its fine.

McCain on North Korea

So now the UN is part of the plan? But it wasn’t in Iraq? And this is Clinton’s fault too? How many nuclear test to N. Korea have during Clinton’s term? And what about the past six years under Bush? I love you Dad, but to act like the current administration hasn’t made tremendous blunders here is foolish.

stuff about things

Nice to see an update on the blog. Looks like I better practice up for that rematch. Especially now that you have the ability to practice from home! I expect to see you on ESPN OCHO throwing in a tournament any day now. And I can relate to car problems. Just spent 1800 dollars fixing the AC unit in the Jeep. That is exaclty 1,799 dollars more than I paid for it. Which reminds me, I owe you a dollar. Love you.

March 11, 1978

Dad, thank you for the touching words. That means a lot to me. I always have and always will look up to you. Thanks for always being there. I love you, Dad.

In touch with my feminine side

I am 33.3% female and 66.6% male. I guess that means I’m almost all man! Whoo-hoo! Or maybe it means I am a pig? Oh well.

Bring back the draft?

Did the draft help us win Vietnam? Maybe I’m wrong but I didn’t think that war turned out very well, even with the draft. At least it taught us that it’s not wise to unilaterally attack a country…oh wait, now that I think about it I guess it didn’t. If Bush is going to spread freedom to the “darkest corners of the world” then it’s going to take a lot more soldiers than we have know. What about this “coalition” we are supposed to have? Why is it all on America’s shoulders? I don’t know, maybe I’m just a closet isolationist but I think we should back off this Superman, rid the world of all evil foreign policy. To me that’s the answer, not a draft.

The faces of the American left

Yeah, that is a real accurate portrayal of the American left…just like Fahrenheit 911 is an accurate portrayal of Bush and the war. When are we all going to get past all these petty shots and focus on the important matters in our country? The election is over. Believe it or not…most people ARE over it! Bush won. Instead taunting like Randy Moss after a touchdown why don’t we just focus on winning the war!

Ah, that Carolina lifestyle

Dad, it was great to see you and Carol over the weekend. We had a great time hanging out together one last time before you begin your adventure. Lynn adores you and thinks you are the funniest guy in the world! We all love you and will miss you…thank goodness for LTG to help bridge that huge distance gap between us while you are gone! I love you.

CBS faces the music

Let’s keep in mind that Dan Rather has spend the better part of the past four decades providing outstanding reporting to the American people. I am not condoning his report on W but I am willing to look at the big picture not just one mistake, which he has fully admitted was wrong. But if we are out to punish reporters for poor journalism let’s be sure to not to forget our good friend Armstrong Williams . He, like Rather, made a poor journalistic decision. However, to the best of my knowledge, Rather wasn’t paid to do his report. Nothing like a little payola to help you take a stance on an issue. The Department of Education should find better ways to spend its money. I wonder how many kids you can keep from being “left behind” with 240,00 dollars? Oh well, I guess that is money better spent putting a political pundit in your back pocket.
