The Great Uniter

This ObamaCare bill sucks. I just don’t understand how this happened. Obama promised that the lobbyists would no longer be calling the shots in D.C. Why am I surprised a Chicago politician lied to us, and hired a bunch of back room hacks like Rahm Emmanuel to screw us?

The naked lust of language teachers

I know your buddy Frank Nathan was not a postmaster, but wasn’t he in some scandal? Then there was Terry Moroz (I called him Morose). I turned in a bag of cocaine to that guy and I never heard a word from the Postal Inspectors. I imagine he snorted it up with his friends.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

By domestic, I refer to those American companies getting the nice tax breaks for exploration and new drilling. As if they would stop looking for new oil without them. Take away the tax credits and put that money into R&D.

It seems to me the political aspect of climate change is that one group thinks it’s a problem that needs fixing, and another group is the mouthpiece of the energy producers who want to maintain their high-profit status quo. The second group is represented by such luminaries as Sarah Palin.

I just wish we would quickly invest tons of money into clean fuels so that we could stop sending tons of money to people I hate, like Hugo Chavez and all of the Mid East oil producers. In fact, I hate the CEOs of all the domestic oil companies and their minions in Congress. I guess hate is not the right word, but I do loathe them all.

A Thanksgiving blessing

You should really invest in a video system so that you can study your mechanics and work out any flaws before they become muscle memory.

That’s gonna leave a mark…

The trial worries me. Won’t the defense get a couple of sympathetic Muslims and a couple of bleeding heart liberals on the jury? Seems like a hung jury is very possible. And even with a conviction, could they get a death penalty?

The world is a better place…

Please be respectful:

Instead of kraut, say “May I please have some pickled cabbage on that dog?”

Instead of nip in the bud, “I will try to sever that in the bud” is much less offensive.

A nip in the air does not call for anti-aircraft fire, but rather the more sensitive “The air has a biting coldness to it.”

Slope is bad; incline will offend nobody.

I heard a few years ago that a tv host was fired for using the term niggardly. Not sure if that happened, or is part of urban myth.

Thanks for the update on the fragger. During the big war, he would have been shot after a quick court martial. PC is about the worst change that has come to our society in my lifetime. A few years ago, a baseball writer described a series of hits as “chinks, dinks, and bloopers.” A Chinese-American (nobody wants to be just an American anymore)had the temerity to complain to the editor that these were offensive racial slurs. I wish ethnic, religious, and sexual groups could take the sticks out of their asses and learn to laugh at themselves, because to me they are trememdous sources for amusement.

It is another government f-up that Hasan was allowed to remain in the military with what was known about him. I don’t see him ever getting the execution he deserves. As a psychiatrist, I have no doubt he will be able to play the temporary insanity game. What ever happened to the Muslim soldier who fragged a tent full of officers at the beginning of the Iraq war? He should have been immediately executed, but I don’t remember seeing anything about him being punished.

Heresy

Climate change is a natural occurrence, but in the past the world did not have 6 billion people to fret about it. Your cold winter in Korea is proving the climatologist’s predictions: some areas will see warming, and temperate zones like Europe and Korea will get colder. Whether or not humans have contributed to the climate change, nothing can or will be done to arrest it– there simply is not the will among the many nations to do enough. The earth will continue to do what it does: changing, recycling, gradually dying, and humans are pretty insignificant in the big picture. Count me among those who think a thinning of the herd is not such a bad thing.
