A relatively easy 7.5K trail at yesterday’s Hash, but totally appropriate for the weather conditions. Mother Nature certainly does seem to have a sense of humor though. The clouds were breaking up and the sun was shining through as I headed out to our starting place at the VFW. Then, almost as soon as we started our hike, the skies opened up and gave us a good soaking. Ten minutes later the rain stopped and we marched on. Later in the hike we got drenched again, but once you are wet, what difference does it make?
It’s still raining today. And I’ve got a date of sorts this afternoon. I’ll fill y’all in on the details tomorrow.
Well, rainy season is what it is, I guess, and sometimes, ya just gotta get soaked. Hats off to all of you for braving the rain. At least it’s a summer rain. Cold rain, I’ve found, is the absolute worst (like in the fall), totally sapping courage and morale.
Well, that’s one thing i guess, it never gets cold here. I laugh when a Filipina says “it’s cold”. It’s all relative I suppose. Not as hot as normal becomes cold.
It’s like Californians who say 65 degrees Fahrenheit is “freezing.”
John, what transgression resulted in you spending time “on ice”?
Brian, I was accused of looking at another guy’s butt.
Backstory: someone who had been sitting on the ice with his pants down (bare bottom, I don’t do that) slipped off the ice and into the wet, black sand which stuck to his backside. I said something like “that’s a dirty ass”.
Yeah, it was a bogus charge, but so are most of the pretexts for doing time on the ice. It’s all in fun.
