But I was strong enough to survive my weekend in San Antonio.

Beer manifested bad behavior resulted in me getting angry and raising my voice at Swan. That pissed her off, but we reconciled before the evening was over. For some reason I don’t recall this, but when two different restaurants were too busy to accommodate our dinner desire, Swan says I mouthed off about posting a bad review. That’s not going to happen, of course, and not just because I don’t remember the names of the eateries. On the plus side, I was in slumberland when Swan had to call the front desk of our resort because some of the other guests were partying loudly outside our room. I didn’t hear a thing.

Up and at ’em and ready to roll bright and early Sunday morning. We went to the hotel next door for breakfast (one of the places too busy for us the night before).

Here’s a short video of us finishing our walk and passing by the scene of my crime from the night before.
Back to the room for a shower, then packed the bags and awaited the arrival of my driver to transport us to our next destination, the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) in San Antonio.

And at last, it was time to kick off the beauty pageant. There were ten contestants. Here they are in the introductory “Casual Wear” competition:

Next up was the “talent” competition. Unsurprisingly, eight of the girls did a dance routine as their talent. The other two sang a song. I wasn’t impressed enough to take many pictures, but here are a couple.

The final round of the competition was the bikini contest. I made a video of the gals strutting their stuff.
Right after uploading the above video, I received an email from YouTube advising that it had been flagged for a “copyright violation”:
Copyrighted content has been detected in your video “Fralics”. As a result, your video can no longer be monetized and has been blocked in 1 territory. The copyright owner may be either monetizing it, or receiving analytics about it in other territories. This is not a copyright strike and does not affect your channel.
The problem is that the music playing in the background is copyrighted by someone, somewhere. I have not been able to determine which “1 territory” is blocked from viewing the video. Let me know in the comments if you are unable to view it.

And now for the winners:

I’m not one to judge, but I support the decision of the judges in selecting this cutie pie.
I didn’t win any of the raffles, but that’s okay. I had some beers, spent time with good folks, and enjoyed watching the girls prancing about on the stage. Then, it was time to load up in the car and make our way back to Barretto. We stayed home last night, and when the dinner hour arrived, Swan wanted to drive her cart to McDonald’s. Oh well, I was still in my “cheat weekend” mode, so why not?

Back after it today. Let’s see how I do.

In today’s YouTube video, Reekay ponders the questions, “Is the expat life or another marriage for you?” To which I can honestly respond, yes and no.
Here I go again:

So, back at it in Barretto. A Hash run is coming up. Here’s hoping it’s a good one. For the past two days, I’ve been having a dull aching pain in my lower left abdomen. If it doesn’t go away soon, I’ll consult with Dr. Jo. Bright and early in the morning, I’ll be making my way to Angeles City for an updated ECG. It seems I’m always on the move these days.
Beer manifested bad behavior resulted in me getting angry and raising my voice at Swan.
You never learn, do you. If there’s one thing that’s going to fuck up your future, it’s alcohol. But by all means, do continue drinking. It’s what you’re used to, after all! Drinking and not remembering.
Sigh…
I don’t see what the problem is. If a raised voice is needed to keep the bint in line, so be it. She needs to learn her place and how to respect a man.
LOL. I have to agree with Kevin.
To be brutally honest:
HAVING to drink every night seems to put you into alcoholic territory.
You tend to fall back on the fallacy that “it is in my DNA. I grew up going to bars with my father, part of my culture, etc.” But then you will post something from the “story of my life” where you talk about not going to the bars, not needing nor wanting that lifestyle, so it is not always something that you NEEDED to do.
Would you/could you go a week? a month? not having any alcohol and still function/enjoy going out in the evenings? (A day would not be a realistic test.) If not, then yeah, another tick mark in the column pointing towards alcoholism.
(Maybe we should have your faithful readers each kick in a few $’s and if you make it a month without alcohol, we donate the proceeds to the charity of your choice in your name)
Like a lot of people, I enjoy going out for an evening and enjoying a beer or three. But if for some reason, alcohol was not available, I would be okay and have the same amount of fun.
On the positive side, you dont drive and generally are not in situations where it is a major issue. But, as Kevin points out, you can only roll the dice so many times before it does cause a major fuck up.
They say that in order to solve your own problems, you have to recognize you have a problem. Pretty sure you are not in that position at the moment.
Regardless of what brand, etc., having ~10 beers a day seems excessive. But, you’re an adult and nothing I (or Kevin or Swan or anybody else) can say will have any effect until you believe yourself there is an issue.
Anyways, just my 10000 foot view from someone who had a couple of conversations with you in Dolce Vita, ironically over a couple of beers! LOL
Re: You video – currently on a trip to Spain, and the video played here with no problems.
If you always do that to Swan, let her free, if you don’t love her let her go, might be someone deserve her pure heart.
The video can be seen here in Calif. and I agree with the who won the beauty contest. She is stunning,
Some hella tight byatches in thoze picz yo
Might be time to take a step back or three and look at how monstrous you are becoming from the drink. No one wants to chill with a raging beast, brah.
At least you remember the beauty pageant.
Gotta agree with the judges on 7.
Cheers.
Drain, Wow! That makes twice in a row that we have agreed on something!
Techno Tex, it’s not that bad and not that often. An occasional raising of the voice or being a smartass.
Hiphophead, Yes, there were some cuties competing this year.
Thanks, Terry. I was thinking the USA was the most likely place it would be blocked. Glad that wasn’t the case. Heard from a friend who watched it in Hawaii without an issue as well.
Lucky Number Seven!
Sandy, I don’t always lose my temper with her. If she is not happy with me, she is free to leave. I agree, she deserves to be treated like the special woman she is. I am doing my best, hopefully I am good enough.
Thanks, as always, Brian for your insights.
I might be the definition of “alcoholic.” If so, so be it. I feel like I’m in control of my beer drinking habit, albeit, with an occasional screw up. But the bottom line is I have no desire or intention to quit drinking. So, what you see is what you get. I’m not one of those guys frequenting the bars that open at 8 a.m. and I’m not out drinking at closing time. I have my three hour window of opportunity and I adhere to it, for better or worse.
Glad the video played for you in Spain.
Keith, I was in the wrong as I should have calmly discussed my feelings with her. But, I don’t cross the line very often and I’m trying hard to be a good boyfriend. She deserves the best I can be. If that isn’t enough, she is free to move on and pursue someone better.
Kevin, well, drinking is something I’m good at, that’s for sure. I’ve had lots of practice over the years.
Anyway, I don’t see it as a problem and I have no desire or inclination to alter this aspect of my life. I am what I am and that’s all that I am.
Real men drink, end of. So many wimps and weaklings in this conversation it’s driving my damn head in.
Jughead, everyone needs to choose their own path in life. My path leads to the bar district. To each his own.
