Have you set up huge, plastic 55-gal drums to collect rainwater for home consumption? (I guess you’d also have to have some kind of purification/processing setup, too.)

No water barrels. What’s life without some risk. Although it was last year at this time we lost running water for over 2 weeks…
If you lose running water, it might indeed be a good idea to collect some rainwater and also buy one of those hanging “solar showers” from the camp store. That’s basically a huge plastic bag that acts as a gravity-operated shower once you fill it with water.
