The blessings of another day are upon me. Notwithstanding the seeming sameness of it all, I’m still enjoying the ride. Yesterday featured a Sunday sweetness stroll with Swan dispensing candies and bringing smiles to the faces of the children we encountered during the walk. In the afternoon, I fed the girls at Hideaway, then headed out to the Arizona Resort floating bar, and Swan joined me there. Back home and “Shameless,” then a good night’s sleep. Here’s how things looked along the way:
There was some leakage from a hose on my bedroom toilet. I sent my helper to the hardware store for a replacement.
Later, I was off to Hideaway. Joy is playing on the pool league team now, and they won yesterday. Only five gals working yesterday, which is concerning. It makes it cheaper to feed them, at least. Joy has been promoted and begins working behind the bar instead of as a waitress. The pay is much higher–six bucks a shift versus four. Yeah, you read that right. That way all over town, which is why I don’t mind throwing a lady drink commission their way now and again.
Hideaway is next door to the Arizona Resort, and I take the back alley to the beach.
It’s Hash Monday, so that’s next up for me. I’ve been feeling weaker than usual, and I hope I don’t bite off more than I can chew today. Only one way to find out. Stay tuned.
Today’s Facebook memory:
Alright, back tomorrow. Hopefully.
I can’t say this group is the best ever, but Abbott and Costello always played them first.

Yeah, I had to pee yet again. Not sure what’s up with that.
Diabetics pee more often than usual. How’s your blood sugar?
She told me she’d like to try to climb it with me soon.
Sounds as though you have a convert.
We’ll make this a weekly event.
Will this become an established routine, like a paper route? Should people be expecting you on certain days, at certain times? Have you thought about helping Swan make a bunch of little homemade dishes to distribute to the folks instead of the usual candy and cookies?
Kev, I’m visiting Dr. Jo today and will ask about that blood sugar thing.
Yeah, I was surprised when Swan said she’d like to climb Easter Mountain. Apparently, she has wanted to do it for quite a while but could not find anyone to join her.
No, the “candy walk” won’t always be the same. Weekends work best because more kids are around, but we’ll do different routes/neighborhoods to keep it interesting. I’ll ask Swan about the food, but I prefer to keep it simple. It could be a once-in-a-while thing, like before a holiday. We’ll see.
McCrarey, here’s an idea. While your main squeeze is handing out cookies to the kids maybe you could hand out condoms to the parents. Why are dirt-poor folks having so many kids? It happens here in the States too with the encouragement of Uncle Sugar who gives more taxpayer money the more kids you have from numerous baby daddies who don’t pay a friggin dime.
Yeah, the bridge people is sad. Got all kinds of sadness in the States too. Walk around LA or San Fran or Baltimore or any other liberal-run city. All the great empires have fallen and we are witness to the fall of America.
I’ve heard of Rosy The Plumber and now we have Teri The Plumber. This gal does it all. You have quite the gem there McCrarey!
That Korean bar girl is a cutie. What bar was that and when did you give up vaping?
Peace Out!
Soju, I don’t think the condoms would make a difference. This is a Catholic country, and the people have taken the “be fruitful and multiply” command to heart.
Actually, the bridge people stand out because there are comparatively few homeless folks here. Sure, many live in shacks or shanties that aren’t much more than a lean-to, but at least they have a roof over their head.
Teri is good at what she does. I’m lucky to have her.
I honestly can’t remember the name of the bar now. One of several I hung out at during my year in Anjeong-ri. I gave up vaping two or three years ago. I don’t miss it, but it got me off cigarettes.
