That said, I’m doing alright for an old fuck. For yesterday’s Hash, I opted to actually do the Hare’s trail, including a steep, slippery climb at the beginning. I was thankful that the coming down was gentler and not muddy. Now, there was a second climb (up some steps that I’ve done before), but somehow I missed the mark for the turn, so I continued on the road to the On-Home. That was technically a long cut, though. It had been years since I’d hiked most of this trail, and while it was by no means easy, I’m glad I talked myself into doing it. Here’s some of what I saw along the way.

A good day on trail, and some nice beer drinking to close out the day. Does it get any better than that?
In other news, Swan and I decided to forgo our planned trip to Pundaquit today and instead focus our resources on next month’s journey to Siragao Island.
Ah, here’s a memory from 1995:

Rolling through the September 2020 LTG archives, and damn, it’s almost drama-free. How boring! Well, there was a Bundok Hash I participated in. We are sworn to secrecy about the after-Hike activities at this all-male event, but perhaps you can read between the lines and discern the good times we had.
In today’s YouTube video, the vlogger provides twenty reasons to retire in the Philippines in only six minutes. Of course, he left out the most important one: Filipinas. Otherwise, my experience jibes with his take.
Humor me, please:

Alright, my job here is done for the day. Let’s see what happens next.
Leaking Willy looks like a rascal.
Where are the plumbers at? Sometimes I feel you are keeping all the pics of them for yourself!
Re: PI video
I don’t disagree with what the guy said in the video, but there were really only about three reason he gave; 1. things are cheaper (which were about 2/3 of his reasons) 2. good food. 3. friendly people LOL
Got me thinking however. (Dangerous I know.). If a PI expat was pretty well off (not Bill Gates rich, but to the point of not really worrying about money), how many of them would still retire in the Philippines? When I talk to retirees in Thailand and ask why they picked Thailand, invariably the #1 answer is cost (and then women. LOL). If cost were not an issue and you could afford to live anywhere, would the PI have been your first choice? If not, where would be your “dream” destination?
