Mary joined me in the bedroom for dessert and a nap, then she left to make more deliveries, and I headed out for the Sunday feeding at Hideaway.
I’ve made Jewel Cafe the headquarters for Sunday dinner. It’s reasonably priced, the girls seem to enjoy it, and best of all, they deliver. I just drop by on the way to Hideaway, place my order, and hit the street. Last night it was four orders of pork sisig, two orders of chicken quesadilla, two orders of chicken wings, and a pork chop for Joy. Since I’d been otherwise occupied all afternoon, I got a dozen Dunkin’ Donuts for the girl’s dessert.
I sprang for a few lady drinks, got comped on a couple of mine, and had fifty dollar bar tab when I left (dinner was another thirty). That’s livin’ large, even by my standards, but like they say, you can’t take it with you when you go.
I was feeling no pain when I left Hideaway, but I didn’t let that stop me from dodging traffic on the highway as I made my way across town. I was thinking about Alaska but liked the idea of sitting outside at Sloppy Joe’s better.
Alaska is right next door, so I made that my final destination for the night.
Here’s some other stuff I came across:
I recently made a photographic appearance on an expat forum called PI@Night. “Exploring the PI with a focus on it’s colorful nightlife, from the expat and visitor perspective.”
Then a friend back in Seoul sent me a link to an old Flickr page of photos from the Seoul International Dart League. It was quite a stroll down memory lane with faces of people I hadn’t seen for many years. Here are a couple of my favorites:
And finally, there is this:
Alright, it’s Hash Monday, and I need to grab a nap and then get ready to hike. I will be back with more excitement tomorrow. Assuming I have one.

Spot the error!
I really was having the time of my life back in those days (circa 2008). I’m not sure I appreciated that fact at the time, though. Sometimes I wonder if I’m doing the same thing now.
It’s hard to find the proper mix of ambition and contentment.
re: the new McDonald’s
I’ve never once heard you say that you miss McDonald’s, so I assume that the arrival of a Mickey D’s won’t change your lifestyle much, if at all.

Lately, it often feels as if you’re dropping hints about something. Lots of references to limited time, every day being precious, etc. Is there something you’re not telling us? (Of course, if there is something, then I can’t expect you to come out and tell us.)
I think my memory must be as bad as yours! LOL I thought I had read (or at least inferred) that Mary was making cookies for you to hand out, so was surprised to see prepackaged goodies. I re-read that post and saw that she has a side business selling snacks/cookies.
There is usually a tendency to look at the past with rose colored glasses. The past was probably never as good as we think and the present is probably not as bad as we think.

The error is glaring, but it’s not my fault, at least not entirely. That’s a cut and paste from the PI@Night webpage. I should have noticed the mistake, though. Its is right; it’s wrong.
No, I haven’t missed Mickey D’s much at all. There is a franchise up the road in Subic town and another one on the old Navy base–I don’t frequent either. Having one on the corner may tempt me on an occasional drunken night, but the real lifestyle impact will likely be even more congestion on the highway and more danger in trying to cross it.
Sorry for the allusions to pending doom; there’s nothing going on in particular that I know of, just a growing recognition I’m at an age now where my time could be up without warning. Every time I see an obituary, I check the age of the deceased, and it seems like half the time, they are younger than me. It’s a good reminder to live in the moment and enjoy the time I have left on earth.
I am seeing an ENT doctor today about my chronic congestion and scheduling surgery to remove those nodules in my nostrils. That shouldn’t be fatal.
Brian, welcome to the Let’s Go Brandon club!
Yes, I think you are correct about looking back nostalgically and forgetting the irritations that made living that life less than perfect. So, finding that balance here in the present is one of my goals. I’m reminded of the Joni Mitchell song, “don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone…”
I guess I should have left a parenthetical saying “I know this isn’t your error.”
A couple days later and I scroll back for another look at Virginia. Not well endowed but uh still looks nice enough to pull out the cash card for.
Well, QP, I always say when it comes to breasts that more than a mouthful is a waste.
