Beach me

Damn, it really doesn’t get easier, even with all the practice I’ve had. Oh well, one more day behind me and the rest of my life to go. I’ve just got to get better at keeping her off of my mind.

Wish I could just learn to chill out like my Lucky dog does.

So I spent the evening out on Baloy beach. Wanted a change of pace and scenery. Hung out a McCoy’s, the new beach bar, for a few beers. No girls to entertain customers there, but there are other things to look at.

Like this…
…and a little later, this.

A guy I know from around town and hiking named Erik showed up and we hung out together. He’d never been anywhere else on Baloy besides McCoy’s, so I took him to Treasure Island for dinner. I tried to engage in some chat with my waitress, asking if she had a boyfriend. Her response was “I have a girlfriend”. Well, okay then. Never mind.

We also had beers at Johan’s and Da’ Kudos, then called it a night. Or at least I did.

Doing something different on today’s hike–taking the Hash truck out to Tibag to explore some trails we haven’t tried for a while. I’m looking forward to a change of scenery. And getting my mind right again.

Stay tuned.

  1. You (and/or your Johnson) will get over her eventually. Have you thought about stretching outside your comfort zone and picking up a new activity? Like billiards? Or rappelling? Or windsurfing?

I realize it’s easy for me to toss off such advice; frankly, I don’t know how much I’d like to venture outside of my own comfort zone. But there’s no pressure, here; these are merely ideas I’m floating to you.

What about getting into videography? That’s an ambition of mine this year: sign up with Skillshare, finally learn how to use a video camera, and start making videos of some sort.

Anyway, since you’re retired, the sky’s the limit. Just as long as you’re not merely sitting at home and moping.

  2. Yeah, I’m doing things while moping. Usually drinking beer. What I want to do is to start traveling again. Still nothing happening here that gives me a warm fuzzy that’s going to be allowed anytime soon.

I do have an update of sorts I’ll be sharing later. And thanks for the encouragement. I do appreciate it.
