Back on

Did the hike today and it felt good to be back on trail again. The back was still a little sore this morning, but not painfully so. I’ll share some photos of the adventure tomorrow, right now I’m pressed for time because I have to shower up and head out for my dart league match. I hate feeling rushed on Wednesdays. If I play next season it will have to be as an extra player. With only three on the team, I have to arrive no later than 2 p.m. or we forfeit.

Speaking of darts, I played the tourney last night and failed to reach the money round. Can’t blame my back for that. I actually threw pretty much my normal game, my opponents just threw better. No defense against that.

After darts, I visited Pearl’s food stand and had a couple of beers there. Pearl wasn’t there when I arrived, but her mother came out and we had a nice chat. Like any good mother, she doesn’t want to see her daughter hurt or mistreated. I assured her of my good intentions. It did occur to me that this might be the first time I’ve met the mother of a woman I’m dating and I’m older than the mother. Who’d a thunk it? Pearl arrived shortly thereafter.

Ain’t we sweet?

Finished my lunch, now to get ready to go. Thanks for giving me your time. Let’s do it again tomorrow!

  1. Meeting the mother already feels like a healthier step. So far, things seem to be going well with Pearl. Continued good luck, both with Pearl and with darts!

  2. As for back pain, well, I don’t know the exact nature of your particular pain, but my dad used to lie in bed or on the ground and bring his knees to his chest to stretch out his lower back. He’d stay like that for a few minutes, hugging his knees. When my little brothers were younger and much smaller, Dad would sometimes lie on his front and ask one of my brothers to walk slowly all over his back. Maybe Pearl could do that for you if she’s light enough. Nice way to get intimate. She just needs to watch her balance.

  3. Thanks for the stretching tips. I’ll give them a try! One of my goals is to not have Pearl walking all over me, so I’ll probably skip that part…
