Personally, I’d consider such a discipline to be a noble pursuit. If any young ladies don’t get what you’re doing and why you’re doing it, then to hell with them. You don’t need such superficial people in your life.

So we’re square, then.
This sudden spate of mutual politeness calls to mind an old joke that my mother heard at work and brought home to the family:
The politest man in the world managed to find the politest woman in the world. The two fell in love, got married, and in short order, the wife was pregnant. After a few months, the wife had her first sonogram, and the doctor reported, “Congratulations! You’ve got twin boys!” The couple were delighted, and they eagerly anticipated the arrival of their two kids.
But something strange happened. The due date for the birth came and went, and there was no sign of the mother’s ever going into labor. Days became weeks; weeks became months; months became years. Nothing.
Even the most polite couple in the world couldn’t wait forever, so the two finally broke down, went to the hospital, and demanded a full examination to determine what was going on.
The doctors put the mother under a scanner, flipped on the audio and video, and saw two ancient, wrinkled babies inside the mother, each with a snow-white beard, and each endlessly prompting the other with, “After you!” “No, after you!”

If you’re close to your move-out day, and you need an extra pair of hands to help you haul boxes from A to B, and then from B to C (probably house to vehicle to air cargo/wherever), please let me know, and I’ll trundle on down to help, no charge, as long as it’s on a weekend, and I don’t have a KMA class to teach.
(Ideally, you’ll get a team of ten or twelve friends, Romans, and countrymen, and moving all that stuff will be quick and easy. Or are you just hiring professional movers?)
Sorry to hear about the tooth. I got a wisdom tooth pulled years ago; the whole procedure took several sessions and probably set me back less than $30. I can relate, though, re: preserving your smile. Wisdom teeth are stowed way in the back, hidden from view, so replacing them isn’t that urgent. When it’s a front tooth that’s gone, you want to make sure that the saloon doors are in good repair.

Yeah, ol’ Uncle George’s outlook seems kind of bleak and hollow to me. He seems to be saying, “You’ll be fine once you accept the fact that all your relationships with women will never be more than “Rent-a-Relationship”s. To me, that makes the Philippines into little more than a House of Horrors—or a House of Whores, given the inevitable money angle. I’m sure the country is better than that, what with its rich and lush history and its mishmash of varied local cultures. As is true here in Korea, there’s much to see and do and learn over there.
I’d say, though, that if you’re aiming to find a Woman of Substance, someone with constancy and good morals, you’ll need to aim higher than bar culture. Such women are found more in churchy circles, or in scholarly/academic circles, i.e., in places where people take life’s virtues seriously and actively pursue them with the aim of constant self-improvement. As long as you see bar culture as something to gravitate to, it can never become something you graduate from. Aim high, and you’ll find the Woman of Substance you seek.

Looks like a great trail (or “trial,” whatever). How long did it take to reach the top?
As for that awesome ice formation: you definitely have to come back when things are starting to warm up. All that ice is going to become a torrent. I’ve seen this on Namsan (and I’m sure you have, too); the change is pretty spectacular, even on a small mountain.

A few of my conservative friends, being generally anti-government, love these shutdowns: “If the government’s not doing anything, that’s a good thing,” they say. These same friends say the same thing about gridlock, a distant cousin of shutdowns: “We don’t want government getting things done.”
I’m sorry that this messes with your life, but what the hell is a conservative doing working for the government?! Curious monkeys want to know.

Is “Ephphatha” the name of a place in Pennsylvania? It’s a biblical term: the Aramaic utterance “Be opened,” which Jesus says the moment he heals a blind and deaf man. One bite of a cheesesteak from Ephphatha, and you can hear the universe speaking to you, I guess. Be opened!
