Yes, it is amazing how many people come to the PI with inadequate resources to sustain them in the event of a calamity. And then a lot of them proceed to do stupid shit that brings on disaster. Anyway, we’ll never be riding that boat, thankfully.

Yeah, I tripped a little when I realized that her mother was one month older than me, but then I remembered that age is just a number, and I’ve chosen to identify as a handsome 30-year-old.

I agree that calling people “stupid” for making choices in the supermarket you don’t agree with is, well, pretty stupid. Everyone is different and to each their own.

Brian, I have no clue about YouTube algorithms, but what you say about using generic background video instead of original content could be what triggered Reekay’s demonetization. I hope he gets things resolved in his favor.

Brian, thanks for the Jello price in the USA. I was curious about that.

I can’t say what the future holds, but looking at those old posts from my last visit is painful now because the family has pretty much disintegrated since then. My sense is that they prefer I not be part of their lives, and I wouldn’t know how to fix what’s broken anyway. A rut is a better place to be than a deep, dark, hole.

Still caring, but not daring

Brian, I just don’t have the passion or desire to do all the things that are required when you start over. Honestly, I wouldn’t even want to move within the PI. I’m old and fading and don’t have much spirit of adventure remaining. That said, I COULD do it if moving were my best option. I just don’t want to.

Dr. Greg, nope, not ready to give up. And if I ever do, I’m too old to start over in another country. I might consider a place like Pundaquit or maybe La Union, but they are both a tad too isolated. Barretto was and is a good fit for me.

I agree that Angeles is a shithole. Even as a tourist, I couldn’t handle more than a few days there at a time. Do you mind if I ask what bar?
