I’m guessing change is what we will have left after paying for all these programs….
There may be a point in that article somewhere, but it should have been subtitled “Fuzzy Logic”
I like this:
“How can the budget office give a green light to a bill that commits the federal government to spending nearly $1 trillion more over the next 10 years”
Hasn’t the cost of the Iraq war been about 900 billion since 2001? Who is footing the bill? Clearly this can not be about money.
“Congress would spend a lot more; steal funds from education, Social Security and long-term care to cover the gap; and promise that future Congresses will make up for it by taxing more and spending less.”
Does this mean that that pesky 900 billion spent on war was ear-marked for education, social security, etc. as well?
Fuck, if I were an American, I would be pissed off at the wild government spending that is totally leaching away at my hard earned money. The funny thing is that people are more concerned with the kind of leach than the fact they are getting bled dry.
Yeah, I hear you Von. I think what is galling is the dishonesty about process and cost. And of course, this reform will not achieve any kind of savings or improve health care in America. It actually can only make things worse…
Oh well. The Dems fell on their sword over this, and long term that has to be a good thing.
So the President lies to the American people to get what he wants. What’s new? I’m still waiting for that change we were promised.
More backroom politics– two Calif Congressman bought off.
