…gets domesticated.
Picking up where I left off:
Speaking of Eun Oke, it was interesting how we met. Basically she saw me on a friends Facebook and told him she was interested. He conveyed that message to me and this being the 21st century and all, I looked her up on her Facebook page and liked what I saw. So maybe not a traditional blind date, but we have hit it off amazingly well. She’s certainly not like any other Korean female I have known attitude-wise. It’s early, I know. But I’m looking forward to seeing her again.
I’d missed my Saturday tradition of climbing Namsan because I got a better offer. Hey, exercise is exercise. Ahem. Anyway, after saying a sad goodbye to Eun Oke I set about getting it done.
Yes, yes I know. Don’t hate me because I live such a damned exciting life. It’s what I do.
This song actually came up on my youtube playlist while I walked at lunch. My daddy used to sing it to me…
“She’s certainly not like any other Korean female I have known attitude-wise.”
Some of the Korean women I know who seem somehow different from the norm are usually that way because they’ve lived overseas for at least a few years, thus internalizing different value systems and thinking “outside of the box.” Then again, I’ve met unusual Korean women who have little experience with living in the West, but they nevertheless appreciate what the West has to offer, and their personal values reflect that appreciation.
Anyway, it sounds as if you’ve got a good thing going. May it continue to blossom!
Oh, and you’re back to “sam-gyap-sal”??
GYEOP! (Rhymes with “Yup!”)
Your lady will leave you if she hears “삼걉살.” Dogs will run howling, mice will spontaneously boil and explode, the ground will crack open, and demons with huge dicks will erupt out of the earth and skull-rape the populace.
Kevin, mianaehamnida! You’ve taught me that before but old habits die hard. I will make it a point to think before I write or speak the word for grilled pork belly. Yup. I will.
As a matter of fact Eun Oke lived several years in New Zealand and briefly in the USA. All my friends advise me to slow it down and my head agrees. My heart keeps saying fuck that, go for it. I’ve decided to take her with me to the Philippines next month. Sand to the beach if you will. We’ll see how she reacts to that experience!
..glad u are happy John…hope this time it’s real…i know what u have been through…enjoy as if no tomorrow…and yes she seem not a typical Korean women…she looks liberal …goodluck with that…
