  1. 50.4 pecent. Huge Majority.

Remember your response when a majority of those polled opposed the war in Iraq?

And do you think 50 pecent of the country is in this Tea Party movement you are so proud of? Do you think 50 percent of this country are behind the movement that Glenn Beck and Fox News created?

    Please.

  2. Opposition is based on fears that this plan will raise taxes, ruin the economy, cost jobs, deny health care, rationed care, change in doctors, change in current health care plan, current ins plan taxed etc etc., but most importantly simply fear itself, the fear that is associated with any type of change. In two years most of that fear will have dissipated. The passage of time will do that. Converts will be made as health care reaches those previously denied it and because affordable for others.

Of course there will continue to be that hardcore group of opposers. That group would oppose anything proposed by a Democrat.

  3. Kevin, love that you focused on the 50% who oppose rather than the 40% who approve of Obamacare. Which I think proves my point. And you keep telling yourself this Tea Party thing (which I am indeed very impressed with) is a creation of FOX News. Please.

And Fortuneate, if you think higher taxes, bigger deficits, reduced health benefits, etc. are merely “fears”, then I’m curious where you are living. It has already started, sorry to say.

Believe me, it gives me no pleasure being right on the issue. We are truly and royally fucked.

  4. I’m glad you know you are right. Must be nice to have it all figured out. If your newfound heroes in the Republican party were right as much as you they may not have lost power in 2004 and 2008.

Remember back then, when you used to fill this blog space saying polls were stupid, and people that didn’t support the president were not patriotic? Guess you were right then too.

It is amazing how you changed from defense to offense right after Bush left office. Why didn’t you raise questions about the out of control government spending then? Was it because you were too busy knocking the people that were doing the EXACT same thing you are now? They were questioning the president too.

You called them idiots. And you called yourself right.

I think I see how this works.

  5. And that is called building a strawman argument rather than addressing the issues that are occurring now. Pretty weak, but understandable. I wouldn’t want to have to try and defend Obama either.

Would love you to post a link to any blog post of mine saying the things you said I said. (The closest thing I recall is the Dixie Chicks, but that was not about criticizing Bush, it was doing it on foreign soil during war).

And even if you could and I was wrong then, how does that make you right now? Are you saying that whatever Bush did excuses Obama? But then, Obama has more deficit spending in 14 months than Bush managed in 8 years…

I could go on, but until you address the arguments there is not much point, is there?

  6. My point was, how do you argue with someone that already claims he is right?

Harry Truman made a lot of decisions that weren’t popular too. He was criticized for supposed ties to organized crime. He didn’t even get a second full term in office because his popularity was so low. History has proven him to be one of the all time greats.

The ink isn’t even dry on this bill and Obama isn’t even two years into his term and you’ve already deemed it all a colossal failure.

I’m not here to defend Obama against attacks from his opposition and that isn’t because they are indefensible, it is because, to me anyway it is too early to make an informed ruling. I believe anyone doing so, on either side is biased or has his or her mind made up and it will not change regardless of what transpires over the next few years.

It is clear to me what category you fall under.
