Well, of course, I can tell where your own post is, surrounding the extracts from elsewhere. You think we haven’t figured out your style after all this time?
And yes, I noticed your inaccessibility and return, though I didn’t let you know about it as I usually do. So happy 2009 (delayed though the wishes might be).

Just a few suggestions on when you should post next, due to your readers’ needs for knowing that you’re there and doing ok: once after you get back from your long July 4th weekend; once near the end of the MA visit; and either from SC or just after you get back from there. We do need pictures of Gracie, preferably with you, assuming you’ll be seeing the young lady. I’m sure I could come up with more occasions when you should post, but I’ll leave it at that for the near future. 😀

This certainly was a long wait for the vacation report! Glad it was interesting — and safe enough. Not sure I’d consider a house there but the temperature range is tempting. It being 52 degrees F here right now (5:30 pm, DC area). I gather colder is in store for the next few days. Warm might be nice…. Anyhow, you probably should take more off-site trips and get more R&R travel time.

Yay for you. Can’t say I read ALL the details but I was hoping for photos so persistence paid off. (HA HA. You didn’t think I’d get to the end?)

I’m sure your dinner was super. Not so sure about the darts tourney, but then, you don’t get to win every time. Nice dinner at my sister’s today – and nephew-in-law’s birthday today also. They’re all doing major shopping starting at midnight. Me, I’m going to work Friday (which might be where you are at the moment I’m posting this, actually ).
I’m glad to see you posting more (now that the blog’s back up). Wishing you a good December and end of 2007!

Yay, he’s back. You know I’ve been checking every day! Looking forward to your catch-up post — you have a couple of months to tell us about. 🙄

Aren’t you back yet? Or are you staying state-side for the Fourth? I keep checking in….. well, you know I do that
» Posted By sja On 03/July/2007 @ 12:06 pm
Ummm. You know, just checking in once a week to say hi, I’m glad to know you’re reading, I’m ok, things are normal, I’m still working on learning Korean, that kind of thing. That would be good. You know….
» Posted By sja On 16/June/2007 @ 8:51 am
John? Are you ok? You should be better or getting better by now?
» Posted By sja On 25/January/2007 @ 12:54 pm
John? I’m having a hard time convincing myself that cake and beer go together. Are you sure about that? 🙄 (This would be my stomach rolling, not my eyes, I suspect.)

P.S. Happy however-many it is!

Enjoyed your Wizard of Oz excursion report (and the photo, of course) — looking forward to the Grease report. I think I’d be hazardous if I tried to toss a dart, so that would not be my hobby, for sure. I do ok with other hobbies, I think. Grandson, for one (wish he weren’t so far away — at the moment, in Beijing, actually, but home to Miami Beach on 8/30 — just turned 6 mo old), and the second on the way (different parents). And your Gracie is a real little doll — shows her happiness in the photos.

Oh, hey, and you know where I am, too. I’ll be in the ofc Monday 7/3, in case you happen to be in DC.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’ve heard that line before, John. Sometimes I even remember to compose in the word processor (aka Word, these days, sigh, well I have WordPerfect at home if I want it) and then copy over to a discussion board or here or wherever. Of course, you have to remember to “save” there as well. So remember those of us sitting on the edges of our chairs waiting for this promised post. It gets uncomfortable after a bit, you know. :???::roll:

Hey, John. Yup, everyone’s exactly right. You need to see a neurologist right quick. And have an MRI. And a bunch of other tests. And report back, of course, so we don’t keep reminding you that you need to do this. 💡

Carol? Oh dear. 😯 A coworker of mine was on that same train that derailed coming up from the south to DC. It’s so very fortunate that almost everyone merely lost time and, at least in my coworker’s case, a day at work. I gather people went back south instead of north to DC. Whew. (And I assume the 9:34 pm comment just above this is not from John but maybe from someone else in the family?)

Hey, John. Now that you’ve made it through January 1 (since it’s after midnight there, so now it’s January 2 for you, how is your year going so far? 😀
» Posted By sja On 02/January/2006 @ 2:01 am
Ha. That was fun I scored nicely — better than I expected, given some of the questions. I’ll have to try some of the other “games” listed there. Thanks!

Lookit that adorable face! And by March, I’ll start saying that about my own first grandchild!! Sending off some “baby shower” things (shower by mail, well UPS, actually) — had a great time shopping — but I’m still knitting — probably will send that along in lage January. So what’s the latest find you’ve made for that doll baby??

Quite a contrast, last year’s sightseeing and this year’s. Since I never saw the pix from last year, this was fun. Except for thinking about the toilet. 🙁 Actually, isn’t it time for more local sightseeing photos? With nice white frosting on the trees and such?

Great story to tell the grandkids someday, esp after you DO get back to Canada. My experiences were different, going to Canada in the late 60’s and early 70’s — much more fun. All different now, but I haven’t been back since then. 🙄

Our turn today/tonight. A light frosting on the trees, mostly, assuming it doesn’t keep going overnight. There was more down the way where you used to commute to/from — started earlier and was much heavier, from reports. I’ll take the light frosting and call it enough!

Gee, I can certainly understand that you would feel rather uncomfortable in that interesting bar situation. I suspect that gentleman wouldn’t have done that if he hadn’t been a bit ummmm inebriated. The other reports you’ve sent/posted haven’t had anything like this happening. Whew.
Anyhow, you’ve got things going. Let’s keep the blog up, now that you got it un-hacked.
Are you making your own pies or acquiring them some other way?? I just finished making cranberry sauce and cranberry relish. That’s night one of prep. (Sunday was shopping for all of the stuff. Well, most of it. Wegmans was jammed!) I think I’m free until Wednesday evening for the pearl onions. Thursday morning is the cornbread. And taking it all (including some other things, not just these few) over to my mother’s. They contribute the space and table and so forth. My sister and niece will handle the rest. My brother’s sending the turkey, one of his fresh organic birds, overnight shipment with dry ice. Seems like a lot for one meal. But, like you, we’ve always liked Thanksgiving, maybe best. My mother says it was her parents’ anniversary. I don’t think I grew up knowing that, though. So why is it your favorite???

Sorry about the hassle. But isn’t your weekend just about over (since ours is half over, sigh) and so where is the update??? BTW, every message I’ve sent to an aol user has given me a not-delivered-after-4-hours notice. Not just you, but anyone. Very strange.

Gee, see, John, more than two of us are reading. Three comments in just a few hours. See?
» Posted By sja On 27/September/2005 @ 9:08 am
Argh. I had a whole comment in here but it didn’t “take” so I have to start over.
Interesting trip into history, that visit to the DMZ. I assume no photos, right? Or are you going to post something later?
Have you tried Sudoku yet? Definitely a logic exercise. I’ve been doing them on line (www.paulspages.co.uk — his or yours that you enter) to avoid the problems from careless errors in pencil markings or not seeing that the entry already is in that block/row/column, etc). Good for the brain, I think.
Glad you got the wheels back. It’s not so hard to separate your stuff, you know. You just have to set it up that way, you know. Well, I know you know. Yes, you should do it.
Good to see you back here, too!

Glad the weather broke for you. It’s been, as you know, pretty much hot and sticky in the DC area a lot of the time recently. Great photos of NYC — not boring at all! 😀

She just gets cuter! These are the pix I was waiting for! Thanks. (And what did you bring her in your suitcase, Grandpa? )
» Posted By sja On 14/August/2005 @ 11:24 am
Hey, John. These are interesting. BUT: Isn’t it time for the next installment of flower photos? Have you done that same hike again to see what’s growing now?
