After you’ve spent enough time together…

Someone needs a bit of a shave.

Me and my friend thought this was funny…

“Zzzzat’s a bingo!”

The infidelity risk curve

I think evolutionary psychology can make the case for men in authority being tempted, like any primate, to spread their DNA far and wide, thanks to their high position on the dominance hierarchy. Most sexual scandals involve men in authority, after all — apart from a shockingly significant minority of female schoolteachers getting caught in flagrante with horny 14-year-old male students.

Can you spell landside?

Well, John, I give you points for optimism.

I’m not “Probama,” but I certainly don’t see a landslide in Romney’s future. Well… I guess we’ll know more in the next 36-48 hours, depending on how long it takes to tally votes, how many recounts are necessary, etc.

Good luck to your guy.

Thar she blows

Just smile, play dumb, and nod your head a lot. They might let you go, as they did me when I was pulled aside for jaywalking in 1990s. The officer in question was younger than I was, and he started smiling because of my goofy smile.

Another night, another tourney

Congrats on the win.

Neither rain, nor hail, nor dark of night

Time to switch to Gmail, my friend. High capacity, great organization and archive-search features. And yeah, you can set up your AOL account to forward emails to your new Gmail account, so you don’t have to tell your old friends/contacts that you’ve moved camp.

I read the news today

“I hold the view that we are Taxed Enough Already”

Ah. The T.E.A. Party.

Happy Birthday to Sydney Renée! And many happy returns.

All Along the Watchtower

I appreciate the shout-out. Welcome to the BSG club! God, what an awesome series. It tilted left, to be sure, just as “24” tilted rightward for most of its run (it got PC in its final two seasons); those were my two favorites series. I’m sad that they’re two years defunct.

Makin’ Aiken

Quite an odyssey! You’re very modest about your darting ability, but you do seem to rack up the wins. Hats off to you.

Coming clean about my criminal past

You rock, dude. Everyone should have a checkered past. I’m working on mine.

Send in the clowns

Funny and sad at the same time.

Sometimes the fingers are faster than the brain

Did you catch the punctuation error in

Were = Past fucking tense of “are”.

?

Nothing is so sad as a grammar Nazi tripping over his own dick. (I’m guilty of this, too, alas.)

Winding it down…

“It’s interesting to live part time in two countries. It’s also easy to feel like you are always in between two lives, never quite being a part of either. I’m working on that though.”

Well put. I know this feeling, having shuttled back and forth between the US and Korea since the 90s.

Happy birthday Buddha!

I’m going to have to be more careful about visiting your blog now that you’ve decided to seed it with land mines.

Slam dunk

You guys are pretty deadly, I gather. I wouldn’t want to meet your group– all of you clutching fistfuls of darts– in a dark alley somewhere.

The steaks are high…

W30,000/person is a lot cheaper than Chima in Washington, DC (about $70/person). But maybe the comparison needs to be fleshed out. Chima is pretty high-end, and offers a full salad bar, a full dessert bar, and a never-ending flow of carbs to the table, along with the circulating meat-on-swords/skewers.

Does Tabom Brazil use the same method as Chima to indicate when to be served? At Chima, you’re given a disc that says “Yes, please” on one side and “No, thank you” on the other. The skewer guys pass by your seat, and if they see that you’ve got “Yes, please” flipped upward, they’ll stop and serve you as much as you want. If you’ve made the “No, thank you” visible, they pass you by until you’re finally ready for more action.

Your photo makes me hungry.

Desperado

I’m sure the ladies think that the 2012-era John is dangerously disarming.

Spring done sprung

Why own a car in Korea? WHY?

Glad you had a good time, though, despite the crowded drive down.

Good luck as you get healthier!

A little rocky…

Hope the trouble isn’t too serious– as in immigration serious. Expat life in Korea is more tenuous than we expats (and former expats) like to admit.
