That was then, this is now

And now the Repblicans are crying about the Dem’s using the Nuclear option. You are right, they are hypocrites. Thanks for sharing.

Is he?

What a great thing to say about your president. Is it now patriotic to call the president names?

It wasn’t right when some liberals did it to Bush and it is just as wrong when it happens now.

It is one thing to question policy but I think name calling is pointless and disrespectful. Knock his plans and his ideas and his politics all you want but I still take issues with people calling the I remember a time when you felt the same way the president of the United States.

Maybe I am old school but I still believe you can criticize the highest office in the world without name calling.

When it rains on the planes in Spain

Didn’t these guys read your information that climate change is a myth?

“Engineers used the region’s brutally cold climate to their favor during construction and built the runway on a layer of permafrost. The airport was completed in 1975, but slight seasonal changes caused sections of the runway to become uneven, forcing the need to repave the runway on several occasions. A project was launched in 1989 aimed at insulating troublesome sections of the runway from the ground, which proved relatively successful. However, a 2002 study indicates that rising temperatures in the area may increase the need and frequency of maintenance efforts and repaving.”

You gotta laugh

No one has ever argued the quality of the health care in the USA. It truly is the best in the world. It is the cost of health care, not the quality, that is the issue. Price isn’t a factor for Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams so he can pay to use the best doctors in the world, which are, for the most part, all located in the United States.

He can afford it, so why not use the best medical doctors? Do you think he is coming down to sign up with Blue Cross/Blue Shield? He’ll pay cash and go home. It is sad that he can get better care in the USA than a lot of U.S. citizens. This is why the system needs reformed.

That hypocrisy you smell could be your own.

Olbermann on race

I love Stewart. He is the most fair and balanced anchor on TV.

I live in S.C. where you don’t even have to hide racism. In fact, many here flaunt it. And no, I am not talking about the Confederate flag that is still proudly flying in front of the State House.

White guys can’t jump

I guess now isn’t the best time to announce that I made the Washinton Grand Wizards squad and will be starting at the 2-guard?

By the way, do you have a link to Olbermann’s comments on the Mass voters? I missed that one.

Put a Trojan on that Cock

You still have to laugh at those comments by the So Cal lawyer… “goofy little chicken”. I gave out the guy’s email my the afternoon show today. I figured he would want to hear from some Gamecock fans.

THE USC baseball team team will continue to wear the SC hats this season and I’m told they plan to take the case to the Supreme Court. Apparently these Cocks aren’t going down without putting up a hard fight. Here’s hoping Supreme Court doesn’t Cock block them.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist.

The shot heard ’round the world!

Elections have consequences. Obama has not delivered and a message has clearly been sent. Unless something drastic happens I expect more of the same in November. The Dem’s got power in ’06 and ’08 because of Bush and his policies and they have done jack squat. I’m with Keith, Obama has done nothing in year one. I’m not crying about it but I am disappointed for sure.

Don’t get me wrong, I am gald W. isn’t around although McCain isn’t looking so bad-sans Palin of course.

The Great Uniter

So failed attacks now count as attacks? Attempted attacks count? Yeah, that Christmas day botched blow up goes right up there with 9/11. I guess it is Obama’s fault that Jim DeMint (R) S.C. has blocked his TSA pick because Obama was in too big of a hurry to fill the post. Then DeMint says Obama isn’t doing enough. Politics as usual.

http://www.palmettoscoop.com/2009/12/29/demint-blocks-nomination-of-obama-tsa-pick/

As for health care, I do take it seriously and to be honest I wish the bill had the public option. This isn’t what I had hoped for but it is a start. I don’t think it is perfect by any stretch. And no matter what is done there is going to be heavy opposition. I think in America no one should die because they can’t afford coverage or go broke because they get sick. I don’t like the current system and I am not a huge fan of the new bill. But its a start. It is better than nothing.

The sad thing is that the biggest winners are always the health insurance companies and big business. That isn’t an Obama thing that is a USA thing.

I just don’t understand the constant bashing of Obama by you when you got so hot about anyone bashing Bush.

I never liked Bush. I took shots at his mistakes. I still do. But I never, ever wanted him to fail. He did. That is why Obama and the Democrats have all this power. If they fail and screw it up (and eventually they will, maybe sooner than later-we’ll see) your side will be back in power.

I’m just not buying this whole “Obama is destroying the fabric of America” BS. I’m going to give him the rest of his term and go from there.

There is a middle ground out there. You seem to be going further to the fringe every day. From liberal to NeoCon, the John McCrarey political metamorphosis.

I still love you though. 🙂

Hope you had a Merry Christmas. Miss you.

Yep, that link to an “ubiased” Website really proves that everyone is united against health care reform. I mean “ObamaCare”…even though presidents from Truman to JFK to Clinton have all been trying to fix this broken system. It is historic.

But why worry about this? Shouldn’t we get back to wondering where “The One” was born or what decorations he has on his Christmas Tree (I didn’t know Muslims even had trees) or stopping him from making speeches to school kids about working hard and giving back?

A new Great Seal of the United States of America

Why do you hate America? 😉

That’s gonna leave a mark…

Other than a trial what are you supposed to do? I know everyone wants to just take them out back and shoot them in the head but that isn’t going to work. The didn’t declare war so it can’t be deemed an act of war. They committed mass murder on American soil. They are scum and should be executed. But we have this thing called due process and it is one of the things that makes us great. Yes it sucks that shitheads get it too. Just like it sucks racist get free speech.

A national forum to spew his hate? Kind of like the one he had on 9/11? What kind of intelligence is he going to get?

I understand you disagree with the trial but I am curious what is your alternative?

Blast from the past…

Yep. That is the one. Lauren loves it.

We need to fact check that story because it was no doubt written by a left wing media hack. 😉

By the way, I own one of your old jersey’s. It is yellow and has the number 7 and McCrarey on the back. I actually wear it because it is A: retro and cool and B: I am vain and like having my name on my back.

The world is a better place…

Maybe they feel the same way as some of the Christians who have had their relegion hijacked by people that blow up abortion clinics in the game of God.

I think pretty much anyone that murders a bunch of innocent people (i.e. the Va Tech shooter) is a pretty big coward. Regardless of what God they claim to worship.

» Posted By Kevin On 12/November/2009 @ 12:04 am

Yeah, that’s gonna work…

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think we should have bailed out GM or even the banks. But now that we did I don’t have a problem with the government telling them that they can’t keep doing the same stupid things that got them into trouble with tax payer dollars. If Bank of America wants to give 25 million dollars to a CEO that ran the bank into the ground it should pay me back first.

Happy Halloween. Lauren and I are headed up to Clemson (I am covering the Tigers game) and staying up to enjoy the fall colors and to watch to watch the USC-Tennessee game.

» Posted By Kevin On 31/October/2009 @ 9:10 pm

Well, if those companies don’t want the government involved all they have to do is pay back the money they borrowed and they can do as they please. Pretty simple to solve that problem.

Yoja of the week

Next week I think you should take your camera and find someone on your own. You can include a little Q&A with her. Tell her you are a freelance reporter. 🙂

A FOX in the hen house

I agree. I’m with you on the media stepping up its game. They should have raised more questions on the bailouts and the war in Iraq.

I think we pretty much agree here other than I question why Fox didn’t seem to be this skeptical when Bush was in office. There has been a clear change in their approach since Obama took office.

For the record I watch Fox a lot. I also watch MSNBC or MS”DNC” as I like to call it. Honestly CNN seems to try to keep it close to the middle (Lou Dobbs) but they do lean left for sure.

Good stuff. I always enjoy media discussion.

» Posted By Kevin On 22/October/2009 @ 7:58 am

Do you really think Fox News is down the middle? You don’t think that they lean right?

Again, I want to make it clear that I agree with you in that I think it was another of many mistakes by the Obama admin to pick a fight with FNC. But anyone can see that Fox News is not a straight down the middle group. Just like anyone can see MSNBC is not.

If you are going to complain about bias in the media then you have to look at both sides.

An w reallyhat bothers me is that our cable news channels are so stupid they spend a day of coverage chasing an run away ball0on that any sane person could see did not have a kid inside it. This is american cable news now. Ballon boy, The king of pop, Anna Nicole Smith and Brad and Angellina. It is ALL a joke. Fox, MSNBC, CNN…

We were better off with 30 minutes of bias a day…now we get 24/7 on four channels.

We have dumbed down our media and it is sad.

» Posted By Kevin On 21/October/2009 @ 11:46 pm

MSNBC is left leaning for sure. No doubt. But Fox claims to be Fair and Blanced and that just isn’t true. Not sure Obama’s people should start this battle but it isn’t like they are off base. And George W.’s people treated MSNBC the same way when he was in office. They wisely didn’t make it such a public issue though.

Go Cocks!

Steve Spurrier, “the offensive genius”=0 offensive touchdowns. Not to mention one of Bama’s two td’s came on a pick six. Ouch.

A media lynching

Political litmus test for team ownership? You don’t think any conservatives own NFL teams? There is a litmus test but it has nothing to do with politics. Unless of course saying black NFL qb’s get special treatement because of their color and that the NFL is like Bloods and Crips without weapons is a political view.

I never heard the other stuff. I am sure it is wrong and those who said it should retract and admit the mistake.

But it isn’t hard to argue that Limbaugh has made some comments that don’t sit well with a lot of people.

And if you think the half-rican american line is funny you should use it the next time you see an interracial couple with a child. Go up and say they have a cute half-rican american baby and see how funny they think it is. In fact, say it in an NFL locker room and see if you make it out. The “Bloods and Crips” don’t like comments like that I guess.

» Posted By Kevin On 22/October/2009 @ 12:02 am

Which racists quotes are they claiming his said?

Honestly there are plenty to choose from. It came up on our show and I went back and got show transcripts from Rush’s show where he called Obama a “Halfrican American”, where he said watching and NFL game is like watching the “Bloods and Crips without weapons” and I covered the Super Bowl McNabb played can tell you first hand that the comments Rush made about him didn’t make him angry but, as he put it, the comments hurt him and his family. And no, McNabb isn’t an angry person, he is about as classy a guy as I’ve ever interviewed and I’ve had the chance to on a couple of times. The guy takes as much heat as any QB in the league (they booed when he was drafted!) and race has nothing to do with how his covered.

Just last week I was listening to his show and he said was commenting on how 70% of the NLF may be african american players but he wanted to point out what color the guys are that pay that 70%. I’m sure he was just trying to point out that the league needs to hire more minority owners.

I’m not saying CNN or MSNBC didn’t get something but I have confirmed and or heard every one of the above comments.

This is exactly what Rush intended to happen. He turns into a martyr. He is a victim. The liberals kept him out of the NFL! This is great for his show and his ratings (October is sweeps month for us radio types) but it is not the truth. This is Rush being Rush. It is way he has made a gazillion dollars doing what he does.

Poor Rush.
