I never really thought about the significance of the Chinese characters used in the name. Sohee was always a very positive person, at least outwardly. You just never know.
The funny thing about farting for me these days is that I’ve lost my ability to smell. From Swan’s reactions, I still pack a punch in my gaseous excretions.

I’m sorry to hear about your health issues, Thompson. If walking doesn’t work for you, you might consider a gym, where you could tailor exercises to your current limitations and hopefully strengthen those areas. Good luck!

Sohee was one of my favorites—always smiling and happy-go-lucky. She had a good heart as well. Dog rescue projects were just one example of her making the world a better place. I was so shocked that she chose to end her life. It is one more example of how you never know what is going on inside a person despite outward appearances. I wish I could have been the understanding ear she needed.

Kevin, no, there has been no refund.
How’s this for a rewrite?…and one Hasher got very upset, said this was all an overreaction, and blamed the Hash leaders for not handling the situation more discreetly. (dropped an “and,” added some commas, and learned that discretely and discreetly have different meanings). The other two fuck ups: needed a comma, didn’t need a comma.
If the Hare shares the trail map beforehand, we plot our shortcuts in advance. Otherwise, we just modify as we go, provided we are familiar with the area (we usually are).

Brian, we usually get between 30 and 40 Hash attendees: 1/3 runners, 1/3 sane, and 1/3 socialites (who don’t do the trail).

I also wondered about melting chocolate, but the types Swan buys hold up well. They are not pure chocolate, more of a chocolate coating, so that seems to help.

Damn, it’s easy to spot that error. It’s something I know better than to do, but sometimes I still add an unneeded apostrophe to “its.”
Yeah, that path was through farm country, and I’d often encounter those rice harvesters on my walks. I don’t recall seeing any cars, though.
The phlegm is back, along with some snot. In a way, it’s a relief that it may not be heart-related. Not nearly as bad as it was before, but I am struggling with hills again. I’ll talk to Dr. Jo about another prescription.

Actually, I’m in control of my drinking. I’m not one of those guys who drink morning, noon, and night. I have a specific window for imbibing (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.), and I pace myself to avoid getting shitfaced drunk. On rare occasions, I will over-indulge, but they serve as a reminder to drink responsibly. The bar scene has been part of my life for many, many years (even as a kid, my dad took me with him to the beer joints he frequented), and I don’t see anything wrong with it. Bar culture is part of my life but certainly doesn’t dominate it.

Yeah, old joke. I normally tell it verbally, thereby avoiding misspellings like I did with “pus.” Although calling it “puss” does have a bit of a double-entendre feel.
I’m not being ironic when I say whatever makes me laugh is funny. I never metahumor I didn’t like. Okay, I guess puns just come naturally to me somehow. I’d say that I’m funny when you’re drunk, but you don’t drink…

Yeah, not much is done smartly and efficiently here. It reminds me of the “no appointments, wait your turn” system for seeing most doctors. There is nothing to do but take a deep breath, relax, and accept the Filipino way.
I made the distinction about the female employee because she had been there when I purchased the phone and struck me as the smartest of the crew. And she did have a fix, such as it was. When the clerk was talking to the service center, it was all in Tagalog, but my impression was that unless the phone was unrepairable, it would not be replaced.
I’m doing my blood work in the morning. When I get the results, I will share them with Dr. Jo and discuss my current issues. We’ll see how the Hash goes today, but I feel like this is more respiratory than heart-related. If I feel like it is getting worse, I’ll expedite things.
Damn, I’d never heard of vagina dentata before! That bites! Reminds me of our high school slut nicknamed Sandpaper Sally. When it was my turn to lose my virginity, Sally was more than willing. But after a minute inside her, I had to stop because it hurt so bad–like sandpaper. Sally excused herself, went to the bathroom, and when she returned, she said, “Try now.” Oh, it was so good! Kev, I hadn’t noticed that typo. I know the proper spelling, but my fingers don’t always agree.
I had an ECG before my surgery in November last year and it was normal. If whatever this is persists, I’ll have my heart checked again. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, I remember the glory days of SNL and the “It’s Pat!” character. Nope, that wouldn’t fly with today’s woke crowd. Now, they’d just ask for Pat’s preferred pronouns. That scenario with Harvey Keitel sounds funny. I’ve seen some sexy trans gals, especially in Thailand, but the fantasy doesn’t go far when I consider the logistics of sexual intercourse with one. I guess I just don’t have it, um, in me.
Yeah, Myleen’s isn’t known for large portions, but that one with the sides was plenty for me.

Brian, the only Apple product I’ve ever owned was an iPod. I’m an old dog now, so I won’t be switching from Android. I’ve had good luck with Samsung in the past, so we’ll see what the fix is today.
Yeah, I was a big fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm back when I still watched TV on a regular basis. I saw that the final season just concluded recently. Good writing and rare humor these days.
As a kid, I rode in the backseat several times on cross-country trips from California to Memphis, TN, that included large segments of the still operating Route 66. I recall that Interstate 40 was being built at the time (mid-60s). In a previous life, my planned retirement included traveling the entirety of the continental USA on two-lane highways. I’d even mapped it out on my road atlas.

Oh, and about guns. Foreigners are not permitted to own firearms, but citizens are. I don’t see a gun culture here like in the USA, but there are some gun shops and firing ranges around.

Yes, that’s true. The exception being very steep dirt trails. Another problem with the steps to Three Crosses was that they were unevenly spaced and of different heights, making it difficult to get into a stepping rhythm.
I learned a new word today–favela. I had some familiarity with the slums in Rio, but not that term for them. Here, the in-town housing is a mixed bag–slummy ghetto-like, old but functional, and large modern western-style. What’s weird is they are all mixed together. A big fenced McMansion surrounded by poverty and crappy shelters. I wouldn’t want to make a show of living large in a neighborhood of poor people.
Okay, I will no longer be petrified about ending a sentence with a preposition!
No, Dr. Jo just gave me a list of the blood tests I need to have performed. I’ll go to the lab first thing Tuesday morning and then get the results a day or two later.

Kev, yeah, staying away from shots of hard liquor is not hard for me. Also, the Kokomo floater doesn’t have San Mig Zero, so that contributed to my over-indulgence in alcohol. It will be easy to do better in the future.

Okay, so the fix was adding the “I,” which I did after paying more attention to the sentence. For what it is worth, Grammarly still wants the comma, even without the “I.” I trust you more than Grammarly, though.

Yes, there are quite a few things on that menu that you don’t see around much. I’m looking forward to sampling some of them. I also noticed it’s on the pricey side, but then again, it is a high-rent beach resort.
