Thanks, Dennis. No comment is ever too long, and I enjoyed hearing about your experiences. Glad this blog gives you a little taste of the Korea you miss. It does get into the blood somehow, doesn’t it?
I lived in NOVA for several years and was aware of the large Korean community in Annandale. Of course, it meant nothing to me then having not been exposed to Korean culture or food before actually moving here.
I’m happy to hear you enjoyed My Sassy Girl and shared it with others. Great movie.
Today I am leaving for my first ever trip to the east coast of Korea. As you know, springtime is the best time of year here, and we are having a glorious spring so far. It should be a beautiful trip and I’m making it an adventure by actually driving! Wish me luck.

Nice try, Euro. All I can say is that in my experience women of any race or culture are unique individuals. It would be foolish to attempt to generalize, objectify, or stereotype in the way you seem to be suggesting.
One thing I think you would find different is that Korean women don’t have hairy armpits…

Lies, damn lies, and statistics
Well, the whole point of the article was that the returning vets are time bombs. No mention that the rate of violent crime amongst vets is lower than the general population. So, that a statistically smaller number of vets commit violent acts is news why?
And why doesn’t the Times find it worthy to write long articles about the true heroes? Answer:

It’s freezing, but I’m roasting
Sorry for the mystery folks. It’s a cooking bag, you know, like you put a turkey in. I considered potatoes, but I also had a hankering for mashed taters, so I went that route instead.
Stumbler, no advice on the combo oven. I hear you can do a pot roast on the stove top too, but I’m no expert obviously.
Yes, having lived in South Carolina and going there from Virginia I am quite familiar with the wit and wisdom of Pedro!

Why, I bought some Soft-Tip Bottelsen “K.A. Kick Ass” darts, of course. Actually, they were only 50 bucks, but I liked the way the grip “looked”. Main thing is they are 20 grams which will be a big improvement over those featherweight butterflies I have been throwing…

Hey Jenn, cabs aren’t all that bad here, certainly much cheaper than what I paid on my recent trip to Orlando. Sit down cost is W1900 and I can generally get anywhere in Seoul for less than W20,000, although my average ride is in the W5000 range. Prices go up after midnight.
Hell, I don’t know if I got a good price from Songtan or not. It was metered and its a pretty good distance. People tell me I should have just offered a flat rate of W50,000, but at the time I didn’t think the ride would cost that much. Oh well.

You know Colin, I have never really understood the fascination so many Americans have with the Royalty of our mother country. But yeah, I am happy HRH is getting a grand reception. The Brits are one of the few remaining democracies willing to fight defend the freedoms we hold so dear.

Colin, the way I understand the format the top 3 from each B division PLUS two wildcards (based on best overall win percentage) make the playoffs. I think that puts you in pretty good shape.
