Meanwhile, here in Korea…

Thanks Thirsty and Keith. Yes, I will really look forward to The Pacific and some of the others. I’ve seen a couple of episodes of Mad Men here and there and all of Deadwood.

Looks like I’ve got some downloading to do!

Yoja of the week

Man, two great honors in a single day…first recognition as Yoja of the Week, and then the anti-climatic Gold Medal…

Is he?

Well, it was a tongue in cheek effort to mock through use of a pun, riffing on the “lame duck” characterization.

Maybe not as funny as I would have liked it to turn out…

Hiatis

Von, as soon as I have that Canadian language translated into English, I will respond to your comment…

Good stuff! Thanks for the laugh…

» Posted By John McCrarey On 26/February/2010 @ 5:12 pm

Thanks, Craig. I do think it’s a head case and hopefully a break will do some good.

Do you think they’d let me into to Canada? Last time I tried (1974) they said I wasn’t welcome…

When it rains on the planes in Spain

You know Kevin, the Earth’s temprature has also flucuated. The issue is whether recent climate changes are caused by humans. Other than falsified data in the IPCC reports, there is no evidence that proves such a theory….

The results are in…

Well, it is actually a good thing to be in your right mind…you should give it a try! 🙂

The last word on climate change

Saw the video Euro. So, if I am getting the message correctly, it is you should always act in the face of uncertainty when the potential consequences outweigh the cost of action.

Hmmm. Do we really want to go there? I mean, if Iran goes nuclear, that’s some serious shit. So, using the suggested action matrix, we need to preemptively attack now, just to be on the safe side.

Man, you progressives are scary!

» Posted By John McCrarey On 17/February/2010 @ 5:34 pm

Yes, it is especially hilarious because the same people who said “no snow in DC is about AGW” two years ago are saying “snow is weather, not climate” now.

Lying hypocrites who think we are ignorant. Geez.

My favorite from 2005

Well Euro, I must say you have been with me from the beginning…thanks for sticking around!

Fortuneate, seeing as how we don’t see things eye to eye politically, it is a very nice compliment that my posts have been thought provoking. But yeah, I’m really only looking at my Korea-centric posts for this “best of” series.

Appreciate the feedback….

Debra, Seoul really is a pretty amazing city. 13 million call it home which I still find hard to get my mind around…

Do you mind my asking how you found my blog?

Who knew?

I actually don’t think it can get any worse than that!

Thanks for visiting Debra…yes, I suspect you are indeed part of the same clan. I remember Uncle Don. You must have grown up in Colorado?

No baby, you are no back seat baby. But you did live in a dresser drawer for awhile….

You gotta laugh

Um Kevin, just how does one go about making health care more affordable? And for who? My “Cadillac” Blue Cross plan will be subject to a 40% tax, so it will not be cheaper for me.

The poor souls on Medicare have their benefits cut, so if less=more, maybe it is cheaper?

Here’s the thing–you cannot provide coverage to 40 million additional people without someone paying for it. And under Obamacare taxes will increase, service will be rationed, and R&D and innovative procedures will be diminished.

In short, we will have what the folks in Canada are running away from. No thanks!

» Posted By John McCrarey On 03/February/2010 @ 6:13 am

No Kevin, I think you might be smelling your own BS here. What makes you think the USA will be able to maintain the quality of health care when the government interjects itself. What has the government EVER made better?

Or to turn it around, why does health care in Canada suck (comparatively)? What is the one difference? Oh yeah, the gov’t controls it. It may be cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

Boot up our butt

Yeah, yeah. I wrote that post last night when I was still drunk and pissed off. Now? Who gives a shit…

» Posted By John McCrarey On 02/February/2010 @ 3:26 pm

Well, they are Koreans so if they were shit talkin’ I wouldn’t know. What pissed me off was them running up the score (pointing) long after the leg was decided. We were being dominated and they rubbed our noses in it. I consider it unsportsmanlike.
