Yes, I set across the negotiation table from Bill Young during collective bargaining negotiations in 1998. I visited the NALC headquarters in DC numerous times and may have actually seen your mother there, but of course I had no inkling that I’d one day be sharing cyber-space with her son. Thanks for head’s up, Kevin. It’s a Wikipedia link and as you probably know, Wikipedia is dark today in protest of the proposed Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). I’ll fix the link tomorrow. Apparently, the father referenced in the article is pretty famous in Korea. Jee Yeun has even visited his grave site.

Actually, that was for my 2 years of rent in Korea, just over $90,000. It felt weird carrying from the bank to pay the landlord. Good thing it wasn’t 3 years rent or I may have gone to Brazil instead…

Interestingly, my dad had a Longhorn bull and when he bred it with the Herefords, you got some interesting colors and patterns. The neighbors all had purebred cows, so when our bull went through the fence (which he did somewhat regularly) the folks weren’t too happy and said they better not get any spotted calves…

Yes, fair points. I don’t always agree 100% with the content I post, but I think the larger point of how wealth is generated in this country is valid.
Although, I really prefer living overseas and sometimes feel trapped because of obligations that keep me here. That has nothing to do with Obama and the economy. I just think the lifestyle here is so vanilla and boring.
So I guess it would be fair to say that I love my country, I just hate living here…

Yeah, it was a pretty cool idea though. I was surprised by how much I recognized. Maybe he’ll do another trip and capture the remaining states.
I’ve always had a fantasy about driving all the old U.S. Highways. You know, US 1 from Key West to Maine, US 2 from Maine to Seattle, etc.

Adventures in home ownership (part 1)
I looked and couldn’t find a reset button, but I’ll take it to a repair shop before I replace it for sure. I’d bought a 42″ Samsung for the bedroom but it’s doing living room duty for now.
Hmmm, the loss is the equivalent of a $600 parking ticket, so maybe you are on to something!

Yeah, Kevin that’s a big expense. I was really spoiled shopping at cost at the commissary. Everything I buy now is 1/3 higher.
