It was a great place to live. Some days I would drive my favorite loop–over Mingus Mtn to Jerome, through the red rocks of Sedona, up to Flagstaff, then back home via Williams and Ash Fork.

I didn’t mention it in my post, but I couldn’t stand that whiny ass goody two shoes Lee Adama either. When he took the witness stand in defense of Gaius I wanted to slap him around a little. But I guess as it turned, Gaius was pretty handy to have around.
Anyway, it probably all happened before and will happen again.

Kevin, yes it was a fair price, especially for beef in Korea. It was high in comparison with my usual fare here which consists mostly of dwaegi galbi or samgyapsal. But really, if you went to an Outback or something similar you’d pay about the same I suppose.
They did have a salad and soup bar, but I only had small portions so as not to fill up on anything other than meat. I didn’t notice at the time but there was no bread offering.
No, they didn’t use anything other than verbal communication. The brought out each of the seven meats individually and then periodically came by with various cuts. One guy at our table (the tall, skinny one of course) can put food away in copious amounts. He was the last man standing so to speak, as the rest of us dropped out after several additional servings.
The motto on their signage is “don’t be shy, eat all you want!”. There was a large group of Koreans there when we arrived and they were still eating when we left. So, I hope the place is still in business when you return to Korea. Actually, I’ve seen several “Brazilian Steak House” style restaurants popping up around town, so I guess the concept is working here.
Oh yeah, Ta Bom apparently means “it’s good” in Portuguese. And it was.

I don’t actually own one Kevin, drove a friend’s. You certainly don’t need a car in Seoul, and even when I was working here, I only drove to work on base and back. Except when we did road trips to the countryside.
You can catch a train or bus to just about anywhere of course, but driving the back roads is a nice experience. Out of the city, Korea is an amazingly beautiful country. The drive to the East Sea on Rte 6 and then up and over Seoraksan is wonderful.

Jeff, actually a focus of preventative makes more sense and is more cost effective than treating the disease after the fact. I don’t understand why it is so much cheaper here in Korea, but they are set up for it. I understand Korean employees are required to do this full medical screen annually.
