Well, now I’m going to have to check out an Instant Pot and an air fryer. I hadn’t even heard of the latter before. I’m all about keeping it easy in the kitchen, so they might be right up my alley.

Yeah, I hear you! Actually, I never felt unsafe in Seoul, even in Itaewon. But what you say about those big European cities and what is happening in the USA is just plain sad.
And yes, as poverty-stricken as folks are in these parts they take it all in stride. Happy for what they have and always appreciative of anything you give them to make life just a little easier. It really is one of the best parts about living here.

Yeah, I hear you. In fact, the trail came through Alta Vista at the end, so I popped into my house, dropped off my walking stick and changed into sandals. Felt damn good!

Haha! Well actually, one of the nice things about rainy season (maybe the ONLY nice thing) is that it cools off enough that I barely break a sweat. Of course, wet with sweat or wet with rain, there ain’t much difference I suppose…

Hi Brian, my dogs are both males and neither has been neutered. Yeah, there are veterinarians here that could perform the surgery but I’d rather not do that at this point. I keep the in the house and on chains for the brief periods they are outside, so I think it should be alright.
But yeah, the last thing this area needs is more stray puppies. I see these dogs that run loose fucking all the time and it makes me sad indeed….

Yeah, I was a little surprised that Carol was tracking my state of being so well from random Facebook posts. Maybe she is a stealth reader of the blog.
And Justin gets pressure from his mom all the time to get with the program and return home. I admire his resolve in doing what he wants with his life instead of what others want him to do.

Yeah, and he was better off than most of the “chain dogs” I see. It is just not natural and I don’t understand the mentality of keeping a dog tied up like that all fucking day.
But the really sad thing is those dogs are better off than the starving and suffering strays I see.

I allow my dogs on the furniture, although they normally prefer the floor.
I will occasionally give them some scraps, but never from the table, and in very small quantities. They get a can of wet food in the morning and there is dry food out for consumption all day long.
Sometimes they sleep at the foot of my bed and I’m okay with that. 🙂
Yeah, it’s just one of those things that takes some getting used to. Life is hard, for people and dogs sometimes…

Yeah, I was thinking you probably knew that trail since it is in your (former) neck of the woods. I think you are right, hyperthermia is probably situational and related to individual’s ability to dissipate heat. Caution and awareness of the symptoms seem to be the wise course.

Yesterday we just had to give it up…the trail we laid was erased. Most of us did an abbreviated bar crawl and a couple of other guys when out hiking on their own. It sucks, but it happens.

Kevin, thank you for the history on how it became okay to be racist as long as you confine your racism to white people. When someone goes off on one of their white people rants I use a simple test to determine if it’s racist: Replace white with black or brown and see if you’d dare say it in public. Anyway, I’m going to share your response with the ex in the vain hope that she will be enlightened. Of course that’s not going to happen, but your comment is too good not to share!
