Spring has sprung

Well, today it is raining some but it has been pretty damn pleasant these days. Springtime in the land of the morning calm is definitely the prettiest time of the year. Jendalay and gaenalee are in bloom and the cherry blossoms are at their peak. Here’s a picture taken near my office on the Yongsan military base:

Ok, so I actually took this photo last spring, but they look the same this year, trust me. Now, with the yellow dust blowing in from Mongolia the sky is not usually that blue, but we do have our days.

There really is a lot to love about this country.

  1. Did you photoshop that sky in there? God, even the weather on the base is better than in the rest of the city…

  2. Yeah Scott, the sky was really that blue (on that day anyway). The base is nice though, wide streets, trees, and no motorbikes on the sidewalks…almost like home….

  3. That does sound quite idyllic…Now, if there is a cat who drives around the base all day in a jacked up Camaro with ACDC rockin’ out the T-roof, then I’d say that IS home.
You know the kind of dude who is 25, quit school, never had a job, and says shite like, “We got 4:11 Positrac outback, 750 double pumper, Edelbrock intake, bored over 30, 11 to 1 pop-up pistons, turbo-jet 390 horsepower. We’re talkin’ some frickin’ muscle.”

  4. Keeping with the theme put forth from VJ…

“Well, all I’m saying is that I want to look back and say that I did I the best I could while I was stuck in this place. Had as much fun as I could while I was stuck in this place. Played as hard as I could while I was stuck in this place… Dogged as many girls as I could while I was stuck in this place. “

  5. I need to read more. No jacked up Camaro’s that I’ve seen, but Dave New is driving a hot new Mustang GT convertable around base. Does that qualify?
