Overextended?

I’m going to be sticking around working and living in Korea for another year anyway.  That should carry us through the move to Pyeongteak sometime next summer.  Then we’ll see what happens.  I’m still in a day-to-day mode for now.

To the extent I do look forward my intentions are to bank some cash so I’ll be prepared for whatever opportunity life might throw my way.  I’m on track to achieve financial independence from creditors by, well, Independence Day.

Things could be worse.

  1. Wow—leaving the big city, eh? Well, if I’m not mistaken, Pyeongtaek is still subway-accessible from Seoul, so I might just have to pay you a visit.

  2. Cool. By next summer I meant 2017 so I’ll be a regular at Shenanigans in the interim. Not sure if I’ll seek or be offered another extension after the move. I’m not afraid to live in the “countryside” and Songtan with its dart league is a pretty easy jump….

  3. will the move really happen this time? usfk has been talking of moving yongsan garrison to “the hump” for years. if you do head down to anjung-ri(the village
outside the gate) I think you will find it to your liking. my best tour ever during 20 years. maybe you could get a dart league going in the ville. with regard to financial independence keep this tidbit in mind. the average joe has to work a little over three months to pay all federal, state and local income taxes for the year. i’ll leave you on that happy note. peace out!

  4. Yeah Soju, Uncle Sam must really love my ass because he’s always taking a bite out of it.

Been to Anjung-ri once and it was ok. A couple of bars hard boards, so there’s potential.

And yes, the new CG is driving hard on this. Most of the buildings are up and nearly ready. It’s gonna happen.
