Kevin, yes pretty bizarre. Everything I have been reading was talking about how stable the gov’t was in Ecuador. Just goes to show how quick things can change. And reinforces my decision to rent wherever I ultimately decide to live. Want to be able to get out of town quick should the need arise…
If, like me, you’re wary of leftist governments, South America doesn’t have great track record. That said, I’d love to get to Chile – the only place down there that consistently seems to have its patos in a row.
Aaron, yeah I really checked into that…I certainly didn’t want to live under a Hugo Chavez wannabe. Folks say it’s different there but recent events have left me skeptical. But yeah, there’s Chile and Central America and well, just about anywhere…
