The infidelity risk curve

It seems quite a few of our senior military officers can’t seem to avoid the temptation of sexy subordinates.  Does this indicate a breakdown in the moral fabric of our nation?  Or maybe it is just a case of human nature refusing to be denied.

I really don’t want to believe in the “infidelity risk curve”, but damn, I find it hard to argue with the logic presented here.

  1. I think evolutionary psychology can make the case for men in authority being tempted, like any primate, to spread their DNA far and wide, thanks to their high position on the dominance hierarchy. Most sexual scandals involve men in authority, after all — apart from a shockingly significant minority of female schoolteachers getting caught in flagrante with horny 14-year-old male students.
