High and tight

Jim Bunning is still throwing the heat.  And the Dems aren’t liking the chin music.

Although it may appear that Bunning is a solitary voice in opposition to uncontrolled spending, Nancy Pelosi admits his action is bipartisan.  Sort of.

I remember watching Bunning pitch back in the mid-60’s with the Phillies.  He threw a perfect game against the Mets, and also threw a no-hitter in the American League with Detroit.  Finished his baseball career in with the Dodgers in 1969, although he was just about out of gas by then.

  1. I bet the thousands of laid off workers that aren’t getting their unemployment to get by don’t like his antics much either.

  2. Its not just folks losing their unemployment and medicaid, its folks losing their jobs. Sure the jobs will be restored once the bill finally passes but until them how do they eat or pay their light bill? These aren’t just Federal jobs but state jobs and contractors. Highway construction projects are coming to a halt. Commuters already experiencing longer commutes because of the construction project will have to wait a little longer for it to be completed and burn more gas. Its a domino effect.

I totally agree with him that spending should be balanced with cutting but this is the guy who voted against the recent measure to balance the budget. Its okay the Republicans pretty much ran him out of office-he is retiring soon. The suspicion is that he is suffering from senility.
